This came quickly and in good shape. It was fairly easy to install, considering the wiring in my old home (I had it built in 1992) was not quite right and we had to figure out which wire was what and how the old range hood was connected to the cabinet and wall. The builders had even broken the wall behind the old range hood - hidden by the old one so I didn't know until I removed it. They had placed the wiring bundle too far to the left behind the wall and when they went to put the range hood in they tore the wall with the wire bundle to get it in the right place to wire in the range hood, it was a drywall mess. It has worked beautifully so far and the fan, any speed, isn't loud at all. I would recommend this if you need to replace an old one.

Couldn't do better for the price. I was replacing an existing hood because I changed appliance colors. I could not believe the prices they wanted at local stores. This installed easily and is reasonably quiet. Clears the air as well as my old one, which I always felt did a sufficient job. The light in this one hangs lower than my old one and you notice it more, which bugs me a little, but not enough to make it worth taking it down and shipping it back. FYI - If you think something like that will matter to you, look for a model where the light is recessed behind a flat cover. This one has a u-shaped shield that wraps around the bulb. I consider this to be a design preference, but not a flaw with this product. I only mention it in case it would help someone else before they ordered. Other than that I'm very satisfied with the purchase. For me a range hood is an appliance you want to function as intended and don't want to pay a lot to replace. This fits the bill.

For what it is, this is perfect and an amazing deal. When we upgraded our oven and replaced the countertops, the lack of any hood was very glaring. This made a huge difference -- I wish I had a before picture so you could see the difference. The light was handy, and of course it just recirculates (ducted wasn't an option for us) so the venting capabilities are limited, but for less than fifty bucks, it made the kitchen look far more expensive, which was helpful since we were about to sell. Had it installed by a handyman electrician, and it was quick and inexpensive.

If you're looking for the best hood ever, obviously this isn't going to be it, but you're going to have to spend a lot more money, too.

Item arrived in a huge box, no padding...just a single, uncrumpled piece of brown paper, but no damage (box in a box). I was surprised that the range hood that I ordered, without actually looking at the old one which had not stopped working, we just changed appliance color black, that this is the exact same as the hood being replaced. The first was the original to the house built in the early 80's. This make things really easy. Installed with one person and popped right in. I hooked up the wires and away I went. Install took less than 1/2 hour.

I am very happy with my new hood. It arrived on time. Under cabinet installation was simple with "A little help from my Friends". If I had been born with 5 hands I could have done it myself. Fan speed is not robust, but I knew that when I ordered it. I originally was looking for a light over the stove but when I saw this item for little more than a light I was thrilled. It is a great bargain for the $45.00 I paid. I wish I had done it many years ago. Don't forget to order the pigtail cord for plug in to an AC outlet if you will not be hooking it up to existing electrical feeds. Costs about $5 more. Glad I remembered it.

I bought this range hood to replace a ductless builder-grade hood. It was fairly simple to install, and connect to power. The wiring was neat and tidy, and it was easy to identify all the leads.

The knock-out in the back was a little difficult to remove, and I ended up deforming the metal a little. Not a big deal however as that part of the unit is against the wall where it cannot be seen.

This is a pretty basic unit so don't expect much more than mild air filtering and a light over your range. It is however excellent value for the price. I would recommend this hood to anyone looking for a low cost replacement for a basic ductless range hood.

This is a great quick fix if you're in a house where you want some sort of over-range light and extremely mild ventilation-esque behavior. It really is easy to install - kill power at the breaker, match colors of wires and you're good. HOWEVER!!! If you do not have a flat surface to affix this to (ours had wood around the side, but about 1-2 inches of recess until you hit the plywood "floor" of the cabinet above the range), you will need some wood shims you'll need to install first, or really wing it with the screws and the angles at which you insert said screws through any hole you can find that might remotely be near wood. This thing is really lightweight, so you don't have to worry about it falling on you unless you like to lean on your vent hoods or hang things from them.

This range hood is a great value. It comes well packaged and installation is a breeze. The light is placed well in my opinion for adding brightness to the stove top without glaring into your eyes. The fan is much quieter than the old Nu-tone which was being replaced. High speed on this unit made about the same amount of noise as low speed did on the old unit. The fan itself is effective (especially) at high speed for drawing air away from the stove top and up through the included filter. The filter type is the Broan #41F Range Hood Filter. The filter is easily accessed and removed for quick replacement.

The hood attaches with 4 screws which are included. For making the electrical connection, I simply re-purposed a power cord from an old table lamp that had outlasted it's usefulness. Installation time was about 10 minutes and required nothing more than 2 wire nuts (not included) and a screwdriver.

We had an old microwave mounted above our range which had failed and the lights had even failed, so I was looking for a simple solution.
This range hood is a nice product. It is exactly as I expected it to be. It fit in my cabinet space just fine. There are two things to be aware of when you purchase this item.
1. It is a little shorter than I expected, which means if you sit down across the room you will probably be able to see underneath it. Turn the light off, you won't notice it.
2. The mounting holes on the top of the unit, where you mount it against the bottom of the cabinet, expect the cabinet to be flush on the bottom. Most cabinets are not flush on the bottom, they have an edge around them the thickness of the front plate and are recessed usually an inch or so from there. The mounting holes are a couple inches in from each edge and therefore don't match the edge of the cabinet. To solve this, I simply cut a couple of pieces of plywood I had laying around, that were the thickness of the recess and mounted those to the bottom of the cabinet to fill in the gap. Then I mounted the cabinet to that. Problem solved!!

The fan makes a little noise, but works fine and the light was much better than the microwave. It also gave us much more space to work on the stove than having the microwave there as well.

I would recommend this unit!

The first order cam dented, so I returned it ... no issues. The replacement came within the next few days. My old range hood was white and getting rusty. This one fits perfectly, easy to install and matches the rest of my appliances. would order it again.
