I don't mind admitting, I didn't quite grasp the intricacies of the "hinge method" from the 6-step direction card.
The online video, however, cleared everything up admirably, and I realized that, once again, I had allowed semantics to obscure meaning.
Installation was easy and quick, taking less time than watching the video or reading the directions. I now have a remarkably smooth top-coat for my beloved Kindle Paperwhite. And, as described, it is indeed a matte finish device, which I much prefer to the high-glare versions. As a matter of fact, it's the matte finish of the e-reader that makes it a superior reading device to tablets that have e-reader functionality.
I highly and unreservedly recommend this product, and would purchase again should I ever need to do so. Since the screen protectors come as a pair, however, I can't imagine that I would need to do so. Thanks, amFilm-you are the best. Sure wish you made a version for the Voyage. Oh, you do! Well, back to Amazon to purchase protection for my Voyage.
The finish on the screen protector is exactly like the finish on the screen. If I hadn't just installed it I wouldn't believe it was there. It fits perfectly. The installation instructions and video are helpful -- the neatest and easiest process I've yet seen -- with one exception. The screen saver I received had "Step 1" and "Step 2" tabs reversed or I misunderstood the meaning of "face down." Looking at the pictures on the instruction sheet and watching the video didn't show which tab was which -- "Step 1" tab was to the right and "Step 2" tab to the left as you look at the "Step 1" marking. However, "Step 2" tab was where "Step 1" tab should have been as instructed in the video. The only problem was asking myself: should I follow the pictures or the verbal instructions or does tab face down mean sticky side down or marking side down? So I followed the verbal instructions. Only difference is which side the hinges are on relative to step 2, so that peeling off Step 2 tab was a bit more awkward than demonstrated. Anyway, all's well that ends well and the screen saver is great.
I never thought I would give a screen protector a five star review, until now. First, I should note that my Kindle Paperwhite is a new purchase and I kept it in its retail bag until I received my screen protectors. The seller did send me a link and written recommendations for applying the screen protector, but I followed the included instructions. The kit included some rubber bands (to hold the screen protector in proper location until you attach the "hinges" (included in kit). I won't go further in installation instruction since I am just repeating the included instructions.
I have put screen protectors on Tablets, Cell phones and on my 4th generation Kindle. This is the first time I applied one that on the first try, I got it on without any bubbles. The screen protector is a matte finish so you don't get a lot of glare.
The adhesive on my original order was not good, first application resulted in small bubbles on one side, application of second screen protector resulted with a side of the screen protector not staying down. I contacted the company (great customer service) and they replaced my first order immediately. However, the adhesive on the replacement was only a little better than the original order. I say this because there are three small bubbles remaining, which have no lint under them (viewed with magnifying glass). The bubbles will disappear when depressed or moved, then within about 10 seconds reappear. The screen was cleaned carefully with optical cleaner before application, and there was no visible sign of dust or lint anywhere under the screen protector after applications.
I followed the instructions as written on the card, and watched the video and applications were clean and easy. I don't know whether I received a defective adhesive batch both times, or if these are just not designed to be completely bubble free.
I purchased this product for my Kindle Paperwhite (2013), and can live with the three remaining bubbles on my screen. But, all of my other devices (iPad2, iPad Air2, & Kindle Fire HDX) have competitor screen protectors on them (also purchased through Amazon), and my Paperwhite is the only screen protector application that resulted in bubbles on my screen.
I gave the product 4 stars because three and a half was not possible, and because the anti glare screen when reading is exactly what I had hoped for. Every device I own to has a screen protector and protective cover on them, I feel they are expensive enough to merit this protection.
I chose this product over a competitor I usually use, because I wanted to save a few dollars; if that is important to you and you don't mind having a couple bubbles on your screen, then this screen protector will work for you.
Update: (4.7.15) I noticed that all but one bubble disappeared overnight! Yay! This is a solid 4 to 4.5 star product.
Also a few tips: Application in a humid area is helpful. I turn off the Heat/AC first s it does not come on while I am applying the screen protector, I spray warm water in the air above my work service and carefully wipe down the table. I clean the screen carefully, and wipe the outer sides of the screen protector (front and back) as well with a microfiber cloth. If even a tiny piece of lint is on either side of the film, it could be sucked onto the screen when you remove side 1 of the film. Also, I go over every part of my device screen with one of the dust removal stickers after I have wiped down my device before application.
Finally, do not rush through any step, plan to take your time and work carefully and slowly.
I liked the hinge method for applying the screen protector and the instructions were very clear just be sure to READ the whole instruction once BEFORE you start the application process. This way you can have an idea of the process and won't be confused or mess up one of your protectors. Also, if you've never applied protectors before, find a room or area where there isn't too much air movement (such as no fans or family moving by) to help decrease possibility of dust getting caught between your screen and screen protector. However, if you do fail once, at least you get a second try since this pack comes with 2 screen protectors.

Great fit, with barely any margin around the protector (just enough to be able to get it off again some day if I ever need to). The application tools included in the packaging are probably the most helpful I've ever received. Beyond the usual cardboard bubble-removing card and screen wipe, there are stickers that hold the film in place after you position it, and can also be used to remove dust particles. The finish is a nice satin/matte, with zero reflections or fingerprints visible while reading in any light. I would definitely stick with this brand for my e-reader screen protectors in the future.
I read the instructions carefully, and I tried to do exactly as mentioned , but I faced little difficulty in removing face tab 2 , it refused to be removed !! But at the end I used my nails :) , now I have these small bubbles !! Can I get rid of them?
AmFilm really does have the best screen protectors for your money out there. At the core all of these screen protectors are essentially the same no matter who you buy it from; you are getting a sheet of precision-cut plastic with some reversible adhesive cling on one side, in a variety of finishes (matte / privacy / glossy). The thing that sets AmFilm apart from the competition is their delivery and execution. Take, for example, the screen protector here for the Kindle Paperwhite. You get a kit which contains:
- Two screen protectors
- Lint-free cloth
- Two rubber bands
- A sheet of hinge / dust removal stickers
- Bubble squeegee
- Instructions
Most other vendors don't include anything other than the protectors themselves, possibly with a postage-stamp sized lint-free cloth. The AmFilm system using hinge stickers is about as fool-proof as you are going to find in a protector, and helps you get out the inevitable piece of lint or dust that does get behind the protector. Here's how I install these things:
- Lightly saturate a paper towel or spare lint-free cloth with a mixture of 50% distilled water and 50% isopropyl alcohol, and wipe down the screen and sides of the device in question. If the device is brand-new, out of the box, you can skip this step (as I did with my Kindle).
- Take a compressed-air duster and blow off the screen completely. From here on out you want to move as little as possible near the device, and be in as clean and still air as possible.
- Following the included instructions, wipe down screen with dry lint-free cloth included, then blow off again with air duster
- Position screen protector on device, attach lightly with two hinge stickers as directed.
- Flip screen protector back, blow device and screen protector with air duster one final time, then QUICKLY peal off the first (adhesive) protective cover.
- Flip the screen protector down onto screen, and begin to gently squeegee the bubbles out from underneath, but do not do this aggressively nor fully.
- It is highly likely at this point you will have 1 or more particles of dust which were trapped underneath the screen. I have found that these typically end up nearer to the edges of the screen, but sometimes one will end up in the middle. Once you have identified whether there are particles, take a clean sticker and gently lift the corner of the protector by the top protector film sticker. If you do this slowly, the protector should peel back easily. Slide the sticker under the protector and attempt to stick the particle. With practice, you will be able to see whether the particle is sitting on the device screen, or stuck to the protector, and flip the sticker appropriately.
- Once you've gotten out any particles, you can then squeegee out the remaining bubbles, and remove the 2nd protector film. Then, using your thumb, work out any lingering bubbles and firmly work the film onto the device's screen for uniform adhesion.
- PROTIP: If, at this point, you either introduced a new dust particle or found one you missed, it will almost certainly be at the very edge of the protector. To remove it, get a fresh sticker, and use this sticker to lift the screen protector film itself while you perform the above-described removal process using a second sticker. This can be tricky as the sticker wants to stay stuck to the protector once you are done, but with patience it can be done pretty easily.
That's it! There really isn't any magic here, it is all about preparation and cleanliness. Buy these protectors, you won't be disappointed
The installation directions were a little hokey, but easy to follow nonetheless. Once I applied the screen protector, I wasn't sure I successfully put it on--the seams were just that crisp! Unlike most screen protectors you've used on various devices (I'm especially looking at you, glass screen protector on my phone with an ugly 1/4" seam all the way around, plus a gap without coverage), you cannot see this protector on your screen once it's installed. No, seriously. I had to crumple the front cover and back cover to make sure I'd installed it (and thankfully, I did). It's matte like your kindle screen, so the difference in glare noticeability is negligible. I would recommend this screen protector (and its installation process that provided a perfectly snug fit) to anyone!
Not impressed so far, but will reserve final judgement based on replacements. Review amended August 2018: The seller was great about sending replacements immediately so, the ruined ones turned out to be a non issue. Ideally one would install these in a "clean room" because any dust will leave bubbles. I used an industrial HEPA unit that was rented to refinish hardwood floors. It was total overkill for my sub 600 square foot house, but it did the trick for removing all the hardwood dust and allowed a flawless finish when installing the screen protectors. Maybe some other helpful Amazon shopper will have more helpful tips. Best of luck!
