Got the system setup quickly and easily. There was a bolt missing but I was very impressed with the quick and thorough response from the team to get the problem resolved. Now I'm looking forward to a garden growing!
I bought one of the first Altifarm four tier garden planters. Since then, I have turned into an all year farmer. The notion of walking across the room from the kitchen to the family room to pick fresh greens for your salad just rocks! Altifarm is simple to set up and designed to be successful.
As an environmentalist, I am pleased to see that my food is always available with no shipping, no pesticides and very little effort due to the self-watering system. Being able to save seeds and reuse the planters over and over also saves money big time. The plants in the photo are the early germinating micro-greens that I planted in JANUARY. In two months those and other greens will show up on my dining table.
The LED lights provide what I need at a very low energy cost. The Altifarm team put together the ideal lighting package to help seeds germinate and grow with ease. They will last for years and provide a huge savings over the grocery store and incandescent lighting. I use a timer to give them the proper amount light even when the outside sun is obscured.
The product offered now on Amazon is an upgrade from the original Altifarm and has some nice improvements. The new design allows for cheaper shipping and better handling with fewer boxes. Although I live outside the city, my property is heavily shaded by trees. The Altifarm was just the thing to grow plants with full sun requirements.
Another feature I like is that having the plants indoors eliminated the loss to insects, animals and weather conditions. Doing year round gardening has grown from an idea to reality for me. We only have one planet and all have to do our part to reduce our carbon footprint. Thanks to the folks at Altifarm for helping make this possible!
When the Altifarm box arrived I was skeptical - I don't have a green thumb. I kill succulents. How in the world was I going to keep these things alive?! Idea: I'll keep it at work.
Surprise: It's been a huge hit. Our office was sparse before, but now we have a GARDEN in the corner, it hardly takes up any space, and we love it. It completely changed the space to not only have plants, but have something fragrant and edible (peppers, edible flowers, herbs) right there in the hallway. When you need a break, you tend to the plants.
Everyone got to pick a plant to grow, and there's enough space to fit everyone's choice plus some. Assembling it was a breeze, and the concept is so simple: fill with dirt, plant your seeds, water once a week. Impossible to kill. Now I want to buy another to keep at home.
I got my altifarm and it was very easy to install and assemble. I got a three tier one and now after using it I feel I need a 4tier altifarm too. It is kept in my balcony and fits perfectly out there. I am too excited and can’t wait for my vegetable to grow!!! Its a step towards healthy living.

On Jan 3rd I bought 2 4 tier combos with the greenhouse cover, mobility pack, and grow lights.
Unpacking the boxes took a little time, longer than the actual assembly. I will hand it to them, nothing was dented or scratched! The units themselves are well made and appears to be sturdy.
Update:
The seeds I started in them are growing beautifully. I originally had the units in my living room and decided to move them outdoors when the weather became beautiful enough for the plants to thrive.
Update #2:
Now that I am nearing the end of my first planting season I’m in the process of trying to figure out what I want to grow in them for next year. The struggle is real when you want to grow everything!

This is a must have for any garden enthusiast that is limited on space or just needs the right environment to start your seedlings indoors. By using this for your seedlings you no longer have to give up your precious table and counter space for your plants. This product also comes in handy for people that sometimes forget to water their plants, it takes all the guesswork out of it!
As you can see from the two photos I included the ease of moving these is super easy to do. I love the fact that within a few minutes I’m able to move them around without struggling to do so or having to ask for help.
