The feel, weight, and texture of this cover are amazing. The leather itself is very soft and the cover is sturdy. Before this arrived, I didn't realize it was magnetic- but it is! It stays magnetically closed when you're not using the Kindle, and you can flip the cover around and it sticks to the back of the Kindle while you read. It's very nice and even puts the Kindle sleep/wakes it up automatically, just by opening and closing the cover. Definitely worth the money.
I really like this case. It fits the Kindle well and is functional (with the magnetic closures). This is my first Kindle so I cannot compare with previous generations. I don’t think it’s too thin; my father-in-law has the regular leather case and it is virtually the same. The leather does “mark” easily but it says in the description that it will develop a patina. Well, the patina develops as a result of usage (scuffs, marks, etc). Minus one star for exorbitant price, however.
I'm very satisfied with this cover. I've never been a fan of putting brightly colored or cheap looking cases on my electronic devices, so this cover offers a very nice alternative to those. The rustic brown color gives my Kindle a classy appearance, and the cover feels very nice in hand. Although I wouldn't call this cover "grippy," it feels a lot tackier than some of the other covers I considered, so I'm very happy with that.
I like Amazon's decision to use a leather designed to wear naturally over time. I think my Kindle will have a very nice "well loved" look after a few years of use. This is one aspect of the cover I want to specifically address, because I think this may be why some reviewers are giving this item lower ratings. If you didn't notice the bullet point mentioning the fact this cover will wear and patina, you may be led to believe this cover is of a low quality. However, I can safely say this cover is just as nice or nicer than the premium leather cover I had on my Kindle Touch.
I was hesitant to purchase this item based on previous reviews, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. Although the price seems a bit high for what it is, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I'm looking forward to many years of happy reading with this great little Kindle Paperwhite.
I know there are several reviews complaining about the quality and price of this case. I had the leather case for my last Kindle and I tried not to get it this time around... because of the price. Yes, I think for 60 bucks, its a little steep. I had a cheap case on my Kindle for a few months now, but really missed the leather case. I broke down and ordered it. So happy I did. I missed my case. Anyways, I would disagree with the complaints about the quality of the case. Yes it does scratch, yes it does show wear... its leather. Its real leather, not that cheap PU crap. Its a soft feel leather. That being said.. you need to keep the case conditioned. 98% of the scratches you can rub out, provided you take care of the leather. The other 2%, well that just gives it character. You get a nice patina over time. I like the weight of the case, the feel of it and the magnet that holds the cover to the back of the case while you are reading. For me, I think its the perfect case. If they would sell it for about 40 bucks, I would be totally satisfied and give it 5 stars.
After reading all the reviews on this case I was very skeptical about purchasing. However, I absolutely love it. The color is beautiful, and the material is soft and smooth. One of the biggest complaints from other reviewers was that the leather showed scratches too easily and that these marks were permanent. Well, the beauty of leather is the character that comes from the wear of its use. I’ve only had the case for about a week so far, but have it with me constantly (with two dogs who constantly like to stick their paws and claws where they don’t belong), and have no significant marks or scratches that I haven’t been able to rub away. I’m extremely happy with this purchase, and the only reason I didn’t give it a full 5 stars is because $60 is still quite a chunk of change (especially considering that’s literally half the price of the product it’s acting as a case for).

Description
I must have read all of the reviews and looked at the review pictures 5 times each before buying this case. I don’t know why I was hesitant, I had bought the premium leather case for my Kindle Voyage and loved it, so I knew I’d love this one, and I do!
I read the complaints that it’s thin and that it marks easily, but these are perks not bad things. The marks just make your case more personal. You can rub them and wipe them away if you really hate them, but I just can’t see why you would hate them.
It’s a beautiful case, feels good in the hands, magnets to the back so it’s not flapping around while reading. The one and only thing I liked better about the Voyage case is that the Voyage case has the origami stand feature. I loved that feature so much. Still, it’s worth the price to me. I’ll go straight for the premium leather case the next time I upgrade. It’s always a win for me.
I love this cover! I bought this for my new Paperwhite 10th Gen. I have the same Amazon Premium Leather Cover for my older 4 year old Kindle. After 4 years it looks beautiful! If you enjoy the aged worn look of natural leather, covering a well loved book, this is the one and only cover you will ever need to purchase for your device. The fit is perfect, sleep/wake is perfect, and folding cover back for reading feels comfortable in hand. A bit overpriced, but considering it’s the only cover I’ve needed to purchase in 4 years, I can forgive.
Wow! What can I say? Well, I absolutely LOVE this case. It is perfect for me. Just the right amount of masculinity mixed with a whole bunch of class a good taste. I’ve read the other reviews of people griping about the cost, it’s simple people.. if you can’t afford it, don’t buy it. If you can afford it, I’d totally recommend buying it as it is the perfect case. I originally purchased the punch red leather case by Amazon, but immediately returned it when I found out about this one. This guy right here is one happy Amazon shopper and Kindle reader. Thanks for the outstanding case!
I bought this just assuming it would have a stand mechanism the same way that previous generations of leather cases did. I was so wrong... I think the quality is great and would have enjoyed watching the leather age but I am not going to spend the lifetime of this kindle propping it up on things. Hopefully this helps others realize in time (in hindsight it was obvious but I just wasn't paying attention).
I purchased this to replace one that had been stolen. This one is slow to start and sometimes when I tap on the right side for the next page it goes to the previous page instead. Also when I open it, it occasionally opens to a page well advanced to where I left off reading. I don't know if these things happen to other people or if it is a glitch in mine. Other than these 2 problems it is still nice to be able to take my books with me when I know I'll be sitting in waiting areas and when I travel out of town.
