It has worked well with no problems. Not sure what happened with others in their reviews, but we love ours and it works well.
The nearly identical product (VT52SN) having precisely the same size and appearance was purchased 6 years ago at Costco. The unit has functioned perfectly and given the service we expected given its price. This unit is very well designed and its construction is as sound as one can expect for a consumer product. I would have given this product 5 stars had I not been faced recently with an unpleasant bit of reality. The unit suddenly stopped keeping the set temperature and contact was made with the service team at Vinotemp, to describe the observed the symptoms and to seek help since no troubleshooting guidance could be found in what is supposed to pass for an "instruction manual". In response, instead of providing any hint as to what should be checked, an anonymous member of the Vinotemp service team promptly forwarded two references of outfits presumably qualified to service the product. As it turned out these references were useless as one was located nearly100 miles away and the other did not cover the Coachella Valley. This led me to investigate the cause of the problem on my own, a task that could have been made much easier had the manual included a detailed and accurate circuit diagram. After the fault was found and corrected I was given the following link to the Vinotemp site to order a replacement part. http://www.vinotemp.com/View. aspx/4975/ Replacement-Parts-for-VT-52SN-Wine-Cooler. The price list for parts reflects a discouragingly high mark-up. Clearly, this experience has shows that while Vinotemp can make a very good product it does not, unfortunately, provide a comparable level of support.
