The Timbuk2 Kindle Fire Plush Sleeve is awesome! I ordered the Blue/Village Violet one and it's really pretty. I have the Micro Shell Folio Cover by Marware on my Fire, the pink one with the elastic strap to close it, and it still fits perfectly in the Plush Sleeve. Easy to use and very plush. Not worried at all that the Fire will be damaged in my handbag. I like that the Fire is covered completely. The Micro Shell Folio cover is really nice, but still open on the top and bottom. Easy for dust to get into it, especially being lugged around in a handbag. But the Plush Sleeve solves that problem beautifully! If you're looking for some good covers for the Fire, the two I ordered fit the bill to a "T"!
This is the case I'd been looking for, literally. Someone else in my family had the one with the small velcro closure at the top, and I wanted something with a little more protection, the same ballistic nylon, and a soft, fluffy inside. This was it. I bought mine on sale shortly after purchasing my Kindle and didn't bother with even a protective screen for my device, because, well, after using it it always goes directly back in this. And, guess what, this is still my case, even after over a year and a half of constant use.
Would I buy this again? Heck yes, I wish I could actually buy another. As much as I use my Kindle the velcro has started to wear off on mine, it doesn't close like it used to (the only real bummer). But...my Kindle has been saved from death multiple times with this. It's slightly water resistant (I dropped it in a puddle, quickly grabbed it, but well, the foam did keep the water away), VERY drop resistant (this fell off a second story balcony when I was at college and onto a concrete floor, Kindle was fine) and just me-proof (I frequently dropped this out of my purse while in a hurry, out of my hand when it was early in the morning and I was half-asleep etc). It also washes off well, and stays fluffy on the inside. Almost two years and none of the stitching has come out-despite my many crazy adventures-nor have I worn holes in any places. This is a product built to last, and when I go to upgrade my Kindle soon, I know which case manufacturer to hit up for the protection of one of my most valuable possessions.
If I haven't sold you on how amazing this product is, then I suppose even rabid weasels couldn't help. But if you lead a crazy-adventurous lifestyle, this is a great case, I have the stories to prove it.
I wanted something that would completely protect my Kindle Fire as I carried it around, and this fits the bill. It is perfectly sized for the Kindle Fire and it fits snugly inside. On another reviewer's advice, I also ordered the Marware lightweight microshell folio cover so that my Kindle had some protection outside of this Timbuk2 sleeve, and it does fit inside the sleeve with the cover on, although VERY snugly.
Some people are taking issue with the price of this sleeve, but I feel it is worth it due to the high quality. The stitching is top notch and the sizing is perfect. The inside is definitely plush and keeps my Kindle well-protected. I have no issues with seeing a diamond pattern on my screen from the inside lining, but I also have the Fimir bubble-free screen protector on my Kindle so that keeps the screen nice and clean with a simple wipe off.
I see if you go to the Timbuk2 website you can custom design your own sleeve, but then the prices START at $39. I got the algae green and it is a very pretty color, and I love the contrast lime green stitching and gray piping on the edges.
I got this, of course, for a couple of reasons. First, to protect my Kindle Fire from the elements. Secondarily, to protect it should I drop it. This sleeve is soft and plush and seems like it would protect just about as good as anything if I were to drop it (haven't yet,... knock on wood). It also has a soft interior to protect the screen as well (though I would suggest getting a stick on screen cover as well. It fits the Kindle Fire perfectly. It (Night Blue/Village Violet) also matches the colors of the Decalgirl Kindle Fire Skin "Fascinating Surprise" that I purchased - they really go great together and look very cool!
I bought my first one a couple of years ago and when I bought a new kindle fire I got another case to go with it. I have the two of them now. I considered getting one of those flip covers that doubles as a stand, but the protection that this offers in a fall is more important to me than having a hard case that flips as a stand. This is a great product and has protected my original kindle (and now new kindle) for years.
I use my tab as GPS navigator so I can't put it in the rotating case cover I used to have. I bought this sleeve by hoping the best and happy to report that it really fits well (snag fit). I have screen protector and tpu skin but I can easily take out and put back. I bought this from Warehouse Deal (amazon's used item) but the sleeve I received is brand new... still with tags attached. I also bought Timbuk2 Kindle Fire Ballistic Envelope Sleeve with 360 degree protection, Black/Grey/Red (does not fit Kindle Fire HD) and it fits too but less padded compared to this "memory foam" sleeve but great when I have smaller hand bag.
Just wish both are water resistant. I kept my sleeve in the tote and my water bag, similar to sleeve and is fold-able, broke. Luckily, I noticed right away and took out the tab before getting wet. I paid less than $6 for each of these sleeves.

About Timbuk2
I looked through pages and pages of kindle fire sleeves for weeks. I began sorting the choices out based on the following:
-material
-type of cushion
-closure
-protectiveness
-durability
After narrowing it down I finally committed to the Timbuk2 plush sleeve and I'm so thankful I did.
The case is made of very durable material. One worry of mine was that it wouldn't be soft from the images amazon provided. Even though the fiber looks like a plastic, it is pleasant to touch. It is highly similar to the material used on the straps of backpacks.
The whole case is supported by memory foam. It takes a rather hard press to create a dent. The dent immediately reforms to its original shape with a few seconds. It would take a pretty severe blow to cause any harm to my fire in the sleeve.
Another concern was the Velcro. I had really wanted a zipper since Velcro brings to mind the types that fray after use and just become annoying even to the sound. Unlike other Velcro, this type holds well to ensure closure yet it doesn't turn into a task of pulling hard to open and dealing with the noise. It opens easily with a tug.
The inside is exceedingly soft and low height to limit the matting it could have dealt with if the fibers were longer.
The kindle fits snugly into the sleeve. It remains in place and doesn't shift around. The case is also slim. It is not bulky.
I'm beyond pleased with this sleeve. It will last a long time.
My wife inherited my old 2nd gen. Kindle when I got the new Kindle Paperwhite, and didn't like the case I was using for it so she shopped around for another case. This one fits pretty snugly, but it does in fact fit her 2nd generation Kindle (the white one with the keyboard and 3G/wifi coverage). Tried a couple of cases before giving this one a try, none of the others fit even though the product dimensions suggested they would. This one fits pretty well, if a bit snug. Good protection from a good looking case. No need to worry about dropping her Kindle, the foam padding is more than adequate to protect any device. Found it on sale for $20, not sure it is worth the original $30 price tag unless you're pulling your hair out trying to find an adequate case for your 2nd gen. Kindle like we were, haha.
Simply put, this product is a real winner!!! Just after receiving my Kindle Fire, I ordered a leather CaseCrown case which I use when I head for a doctor appt. or any other situation where "waiting" is anticipated. BUT!, when at home, I prefer to use the Fire without a cover and I've worried about not having protection around it if not in use. Well, let me tell you that I have that problem covered in this Timbuk2 Plush Sleeve, it's absolutely fantastic!! The fabric is heavy-duty and quilted and the Fire fits snuggly but not to the point that makes it difficult to remove it from the sleeve. The interior is a really fine grade of velvet and I like to think that it sort of dusts and polishes the Fire every time it's put into or taken out of the sleeve... You won't go wrong with this one!
I think this is a really great cover for my Fire. It's very nicely padded and the interior is very soft and doesn't scratch my Fire. I ordered this cover for my Fire for the simple fact Timbuk2 doesn't make a reading jacket for the Fire. This is what I really wanted. I usually like to have a couple covers cause I like to change my mind so i've also ordered the Timbuk2 Professor Jacket for the Fire. I was a longtime user of M-Edge covers, but after getting my first Timbuk2, I will never by a M-Edge again. Not that they aren't excellet covers, but Timbuk2 is much more excellent for my reading devices.
This is the 4th Timbuk2 product that my family has owned for the Kindle family products. The plush sleeve's with memory foam are excellent. They are light. They are not bulky. Fit is very nice. Easy to put in and get out. The materials are uniformly excellent. My kids are hard on electronics. One daughter dropped, drown, flushed and boyfriend drama killed 4 phones last year. Her Kindle however was just fine. And trust me, she has dropped it a few times. So the main job of protecting your Kindle is job accomplished. Highly recommended
