A must have if you own knitting needles you're unsure of the size. I had several sets that were separated from their original packages and not marked with the size (circular needles - no place to mark them, really.) Now I know for sure what size they are.
The best thing about it is that it is EXACTLY the same as the one I lost, so now I can pretend I never lost it and fool myself into thinking I am not getting old & forgetful. (I can't promise it will make you feel younger, though.)
But seriously . . . I use it constantly, especially the ruler & stitch gauge window. It does the job.
This is a knitting needle and crochet hook gauge .I really am happy with the quality. The gauge is what I need to calibrates neeedle hook size to yarn size is printed on it.
This is not good to measure crochet hooks so if anyone is buying with that in mind, i suggest you look elsewhere. This was no issue for me since I only buy crochet hooks that are marked. The most useful thing for me was the 2x2 inch holes. I have been able to get my gauge correct since i started using this. If you do not want to have to buy yarn because you garment is too small or have to give your garment to someone because it is too large i suggest you start measuring your stitches to ensure you have what the pattern is instructing
I had an identical item more than a decade ago and replaced it immediately when it was lost. I had inherited a set of metal double-pointed needles that weren't marked with the needle size, so this tool has been invaluable in ensuring that I am using the right needle size. I keep it in my knitting basket and find myself grabbing it whenever I need a ruler, as well. It's cheap, light, convenient, and so useful for non-imprinted needles!

This is very handy little tool! A few of my needles are not labeled, so when I saw this on Amazon, I bought it right away. The metal is so thin that it could be bent to a point where it wouldn't bend back properly, but so long as you're careful not to try & fold it in half, you should be fine.
I've had this brand needle sizer for years & love it. The holes will not loose their accuracy like wood or plastic can. Personally, I don't like the big monster holes for the larger needle sizes, 17 thru 50, but that's just me. Great sizer.
Really like the Susan Bates metal Knit-Chek. Can check out the size of my wood knitting needles easily. No more paper ones that ends up torn, etc. The Bates one is perfect.
nice compact size; sturdy aluminum; keep it in my knitting basket and have used it countless times already to verify needle size on those circulars that come out of the bag or unmarked double-pointed needles, and also use the ruler on it frequently; the stitch counter window is also a great help in checking guage. And all for just a few dollars!
The Susan Bates Knit Check guide for Knitting Needles is a great way to check the size of your knitting needles. I bought this as part of my starter set to learn to knit. I am well pleased. You just stick your needle in and when it is snug you know what size that needle is..easy peasy
