My dogs LOVE this food and did right away. I wanted to switch them from blue buffalo wilderness because while I think the food is of good quality, was not on the list of top 10 best foods for dogs whereas solid gold was. This food actually turned out to be cheaper than blue buffalo too! I was very nervous switching my dogs' food since they've been on BB for so long, I was worried that a new food would make them sick, or make them not want to eat, or give them stomach problems during the switch... But nothing! They haven't even had the loose stool you'd usually find within 3 days of switching your dogs food. I think this food and it's ingredients are such good quality that this kind of thing wouldn't be an issue. I bought this kind of solid gold because it is geared towards mildly active dogs, mine just take a 1/2 mil walk 5-6 days a week. I have a pitbull/hound mix and a corgi/jack Russel mix if this helps anyone. I will definitely keep buying this food.
We switched to this brand after Merrick brand dog food started making my senior dog sick all the time with chronic diarrhea. I was a little apprehensive at first, because our dog can be pretty finicky about dog foods (he lost interest in Honest Kitchen after a few feeds and wouldn't eat), but A) he LOVES this dog food (we combine it with the Solid Gold Fit & Fabulous canned stuff), B) it contains premium ingredients, which wasn't the case any longer once Merrick was bought by Purina in 2016, and most importantly, C) all of our dogs' chronic diarrhea symptoms cleared after the first couple of feedings. So I'm pretty confident in this brand, and I'll be sticking with it until I have a reason not to.
My dog has Pancreatic enzyme deficiency problems, has a really hard time putting on weight and is very sensitive to different kinds of food. He loved this food and actually gained weight with it. Currently we are experimenting with different foods to see what's best for him but of all the foods we've tried, this has been the best so far.
When I rescued my dog, she was about 1 year old and we had to "refeed" her (basically train her body how to eat again). She ended up with 3 bouts of pancreatitis and almost died. The vet and I figured out that she could not eat typical dog food and had to keep the fat content less than 10%. This is SO HARD to find! She has been on this brand for almost a decade (6% fat, fish base) and has been healthy ever since!
I actually didn't buy it for dogs, I bought it for my rodents as something to add to their food mix. It as a low enough protein content for non-carnivorous animals, and the ingredients are comparatively healthy. It also smells better than rodent lab blocks (those smell like barf). I wouldn't feed this too a dog unless they need a very low protein diet, it would not be adequate as a base diet for a normal healthy dog.
I also give it as part of my feeder-roaches diet.
Everyone eats it right up, no complaints.
If you happen to be looking for a dog food to add to your rat's food mix, get this one! It's much cheaper than the vegetarian ones and can be found at normal pet stores.

My yorkiepoo loves this food. Since he has been eating it,he has developed the softest, silkiest coat! It agrees with him and he seems to really look forward meal time. I gave this to a female Maltese from the time she started eating solid food at 3 months and she lived to be 17 with very few health problems throughout her life. It is a high quality food with none of the usual "junk" in it! I would recommend it to anyone who wants their dog to eat a healthy diet. If you buy this and are going to change your dog's food over to Holistique Blendz,I would recommend changing it over very slowly because a sudden change to this food will result in intestinal issues!!! What I did was for the first 3days gave my dog 1/4 Holistique and 3/4 the "old" food. Then the next 3 days, give 1/2 Holistique and 1/2 "old" food. The next 3 days give 3/4 Holistique and 1/4 "old" food. And then finish. That way you won't have to worry about an " intestinal upset". Hope this helps.
I have been buying this dog food for my yorkies for years as one has skin allergy. She receives shot each week but due to her meds off and on only, she is able to go without being broken out much. This holistique food helps immensely. I HOPE price and weight of bag stays the same as I noticed few places new packages, 3 lbs less weight I recall and rise in price. We out here need to be able to purchase this at the original weight and price and thank goodness Amazon is not over charging us so far as to the places they let us purchase from. Thanks, Amazon.
I have been searching for a new Food for my dog with pancreatitis. He needs a low fat, lower protein food which isn’t full of fillers. He loves the food and so far he isn’t having any issues as I am slowly transitioning him To this from another brand.
We've been using this food for a long time and have had no problems. The owner lives in our area and we've met her at the store a few times, she's sincere and a dog lover. We had lost dogs to the melamine contamination several years ago and sought out some thing local and made in this country, we found Solid Gold. It was nice to have it delivered.
My older dog does not need the high levels of protein found in many other premium kibbles. Happy to find this one and he digests it well and approves of the taste.
