The handle really feels nice, not too fat, not too skinny and well balanced.
Paper, vinyl and leather all cut very well. It’s entirely possible that it’s the best leather cutting knife I’ve ever used.
It also cuts wooden veneers extremely well, even cross grain cuts are clean and it follows the cut line very well. I am a professional conservator of antique furniture and veneers are a big part of my life. This knife definitely has a permanent home in my toolchest.
The caveats: It won’t cut unsupported material (material not laying on something else) it just slides across it.
You can’t scrape with it. Scraping excess glue and other stuff off of furniture is a daily operation for me and this blade won’t do it (not for long anyway). The edge chips away quickly.
There is a sharp point on the blade, but it’s not in the same place as a #11 blade. In use that makes it feel weird if you’ve spent a lifetime using #11 blades, so you have to get used to that.
Overall I like the knife. I think the blades are too expensive, but they are worth it. In the situations where this works it really works well. But it’s not a viable replacement for a regular X-Acto. You need both.
I love this knife, I use it as a color pencil artist to scrape off bits of color especially when working on fur and hair. I did have a momentary problem when the blade was missing from the blade. Then realized that the cardboard covering on the back of the package was missing over the blade. Checked the package it came in and found both the cardboard cover and the blade. I had filed a claim thinking the blade was lost, and they were going to send me a new cutter right away. Canceled the new order, am happy with this blade and the company I ordered from.
I use this knife on a daily basis. The box cutter version would be ideal in a home or setting where there are children. It'll cut glass, but not fingers. Pretty cool. Didn't find this to be the best tool for detailed poster-board stenciling because the blade didn't perform as precisely as a good craft knife. That said, this is the first cutter I reach for when doing most projects. It took me 7 weeks to break the first blade (hence 4 stars instead of 5). This doesn't come with additional blades, so be sure to order some backups.
ART TEACHERS YOU NEED THIS TOOL! These are so much better than xacto blades! They don't come to a point at the end, creating a way safer knife for the student's to use. I have been using these in my classroom with grades 4-8 and the kids love them. The opportunity to do fine detail cutting has opened a door to collage work, fine tuning masks, paper cutting and other types of work. Seriously consider buying a few of these for your class! They are worth EVERY penny!
Bought this to cut 1/4 gatorboard (foam board that doesn't dent). It does what it says, can cut gatorboard and much safer than using a traditional Exacto knife. As for slicing "like butter" through gatorboard or like material - that is an over statement.
The handle seems a little flimsy for my use, but anything less dense or thick would be fine. Handles better than a traditional knife. Wish it had another blade for the price. The blade rides accurately in the original cut, if several passes are required.
But, the price is cheap compared to slicing a finger with a traditional knife. It is worth the price as it keeps cutting and dulls very slowly. I don't have to this lock up or worry about the grand kids finding it and injuring themselves.

As well as the the curved blade so I could be more precise in my cuts.Used with Slice 10520 Craft Blades, Fits Most Craft Handle Knives, Ceramic Blade, 4-Pack, White They not only function well but cut safely. I don't have to worry about cutting my fingers or accidents as much as a metal blade. Well thought out.
what a help. I've had trouble with scissors lately due to an arthritic thumb.
The cutter knife allows me to be accurate in even the most intricate areas.
I do decoupage work and need to accurately cut out images.
The ceramic blades are good with leather or vinyl. I do not use them on plastics or balsa. They work well in cutting such pliable material. They sore durable, but, are brittle. Excellent when used on the right material.
This has been an invaluable tool on my last colored pencil drawing.
Luv the product but not the price
