I bought this for my new refrigerator and noticed its the same size shape,lights and all of the more costly other brand I bought for my new washing machine. They both work exactly the same. This one is a better deal. My electric power goes out usually once a week- only briefly. These things work! They immediately cut off the power for three minutes until the surge is gone. Excellent to protect these appliances circuit boards. I highly recommend having this protection.
When I first installed the unit, it popped the ground fault breaker, but after I reset it, it seems fine.
I didn't buy this unit for surge protection, as it has very low joule capacity, but for brown-out protection to protect the compressors on my refrigerator, freezer and window air conditioners. Low voltage is very hard on compressors.
So far, they seem to be working fine.
Seems to work good, since we have power issues from time to time it should save our refrigerator
Have only had this refrigerator surge protector for short time. Had one 5+ minute power outage. Protector seems to work OK.
As far as I can tell, this surge protector serves it's purpose. It timed out for 3 minutes after I initially plugged it in as stated in the directions.
