I made the little troll using this kit in only two hours after I got this kit! It's fast to get started and really had everything I needed to start a new hobby. It's been really easy to get interested in needle felting when everything (and I mean everything) is here for a really easy entry into a new hobby.
This is a nice little kit and I am happy with my purchase. It contains everything I needed to get started with needle felting, other than the wool. Since I am reclaiming wool from old sweaters this was perfect for me. I almost didn't order it after reading in a review that the included items were "very small". I was delighted to find that the needle handles and finger cots fit my hands very comfortably and I don't think I would want them any bigger. For example, the assembled single needle handle, with the "plug" that holds the needle inserted, measures 3-1/2" long. I rest my middle finger on the plug while grasping the tool where the handle narrows with my thumb and pointer finger. This is comfortable for me and gives me excellent control of the needle. The ergonomic way the handle is shaped keeps it from slipping forward or backward without my having to grip it really tight. I am able to work on my projects for hours without experiencing hand fatigue or cramping. Since I am making dollhouse miniatures, the single needle tool is the one that I use most frequently. I wear a small to medium size woman's glove depending on the cut/construction. I use medium size disposable gloves. I am 65 and have mild arthritis in my hands.
The price for this kit is a steal! All the tools in the kit are super useful and are easy to work with. The amount of wool is perfect to make multiple small fixtures. I wish more foam mats would come with the kit since it does start to squish and lose its strength after felting for a while. 10/10 recommend for fun arts and craft time!
I like this kit. I have made one felted owl so far with the roving I purchased separately. The needles came packed in little tubes which makes them great for storing, however they are not labeled so as a beginner I am not sure which ones to use for finish work, etc. There is also one wood tool that I am not certain how to use. I just put a single needle in it which should help with fatigue, I imagine.
I've been trying to get into new cool little crafts and this needle felting kit was the perfect little new thing to try. I'm still getting a hold of things, but i absolutely love it. My niece also loves learning with me as well.

About Felting Needle
1. Felting needles are quite delicate and can break easily if used incorrectly. Please use it on the foam mat to avoid the damage.
2. Make sure you are stabbing in and out at the same angle, not twisting or bending the needle. If the needle won't go into the wool easily, either change to a finer needle, or if the piece is very hard you probably want to stop felting it to avoid over felting.
3.Different needles come with varying numbers of barbs. The more barbs, the quicker the felting but less barbs will give you more accuracy with fine detail work.
4.The needles do go blunt over time, if pieces take longer to felt, you probably need to replace your needle. If you don't use it for a long time, you may wipe some oil on it in case of rust.

Fun Fun Fun just what I needed to do my woofing projects with my granddaughter a little smelly (musty but airs out nicely) great for beginners
I just wanted to try needle felting without spending a ton of money. This is exactly what I wanted to give it a go.
Thsee were my first needle felting tools I have bought. I compared a lot of sets before buying this one. A lot is included for the price. I tried it out yesterday, & really like it.
My wife and I recently got addicted to felting so this was a Christmas present to ourselves. I would have liked it to come with a few smaller needles for fine detail but the two sizes you get are a good start for beginners.
