Lion Brand Yarn 545-201 Landscapes Yarn, Boardwalk

Update: The price did come down on this yarn to make it more affordable long enough for me to buy some but now it's back up. So keep an eye on prices. I'm adding pictures with granny squares made with it and Thor The Warrior Kitten.

After making a full blanket with it, I can say more about working with it - thickness varies in places. There is also a bit of fuzzy/halo effect as you handle the item sometimes. That doesn't trouble me, I'm a loose crocheter and don't mind a "handmade" variability to the yarn thickness or appearance. I split the yarn a few times but I didn't perceive it to be a significant issue. This yarn doesn't strike me as generally fussy to work with, but the few times when it was mildly fussy, I just didn't care because I love it so much. If you're very particular about everything being exact on your projects - same thickness, tight tension and extremely uniform look, you probably wouldn't dig the multi-color explosion here anyway. But it's right up my alley and I'll be looking for more opportunities to work with this.

This yarn is GORGEOUS. It's super soft, very thick, and the colors (Boardwalk) are absolutely stunning. It's wonderful to work with and I want more!!! The only thing I don't 100% love about this yarn is the price.I would make huge blankets out of this stuff all over the place if I wouldn't need to mortgage something to do it. That's why it's 4 stars instead of 5. At the price I paid for it, it can only be used for accents or special projects, not all the stuff I'd love to use it for. But for a hat or scarf or something? Great choice.

This is 100% my favorite yarn. I've bought so many skeins in the Boardwalk color that I may as well take up stock! It stripes in beautiful, bright rainbow colors and is amazing for scarves and hats to make a statement.

I really really loved this yarn. It was an absolute delight to crochet and watch the vivid colors change so quickly. It is very soft, varied weight and seems like a very good quality yarn.. Except just one thing. The knot, where there wouldn't normally be a color change. Huge disappoint when it comes to something as much of a statement as a scarf or a hat, as it's completely noticeable and very poorly transitioned. If i had another shot with a better skein of this product I'm sure i would be the happiest girl in the world. But, for now, abrupt knot it is.

Makes lovely stripes as you knit. Its acrylic but woven to look a lot like wool.

This wool is beautiful, easy to work with and the scarves and ear warmers I have made look so lovely with the shading. I just want to make more and more,...... but now I need to get back to work.

I opened the box today getting prepared to begin Christmas projects however I'm a little dismayed. I realize now that I will need to buy additional skeens of this yarn in order to have enough for the final product. The quality of the yarn however is excellent. Much softer than expected out of box and the color is quite brilliant! I would have to say, as with any soft yarn to be careful with fraying but I'm looking forward to prolong use with this particular yarn. I will be buying more from this company, keep up the good work!

Ordered the 'mountain range' and I love the colors of this yarn, so far it has been pretty easy to work with. I'm used to working with the uneven sizing of redheart unforgettable, I haven't found that to be a problem with this lion brand so far it seems like a really even strand. Not saying it won't happen though. Also much like redheart it seems difficult to go back and recover mistakes, I have had a much easier time recovering snags with this lion heart brand and yes it does snag. I feel like the color and feel, the softness, makes up for its cons if you're willing to work with it. Definitely makes some beautiful projects!

I am a beginner crocheter and am attempting a scarf with this. I thought it was nice enough yarn for me to use. I'm going to need to buy another one to finish off my scarf. I'm going 25 chains across for an adult scarf and you would need probably two to complete.
Pros:
Beautiful coloring.
Extremely soft.

Cons:
Frays pretty easy.
Very obvious knots where the strings were tied together.
It changes sizes throughout the yarn ball

However, I would 100% buy again because the color scheme is so beautiful and it is so soft.

Seriously love this yarn! The skein is a bit smaller than it looks in the picture but I should've checked weight and length so that's on me.
This is the softest yarn I've ever felt! I think because of the way it's made, it did shed a bit onto my shirt when I was using it but not too bad. A quick run with the lint roller and it was fine.
There was a bit of a learning curve when I started using it as it's not as tightly wound as the other yarns I've used and kept coming slightly unraveled when I didn't hold on so tight and my hook would go through the yarn. It also became twisted when I was working with it. It didn't take long to work out how to partner better with the yarn though.
I would most definitely buy this yarn and use it again. The transition to and from each color is absolutely beautiful and the hat I made is very comfortable. It's not itchy or too tight and keeps me warm.
Thank you!

This is great yarn and I enjoyed working with it.
