"Made for Amazon" Ninety7 SKY TOTE Portable Battery Base for Amazon Echo (2nd Generation) Black/Carbon

Love the handle, Feel safe carrying my echo to other locations. Sound is great.

Wonderful sound quality!

13-yr-old daughter loves this in her room for Alexa!!

Love everything about this thing

It definitely looks good and easy to bring everywhere all over the house so you don't have to keep disconnecting Alexa. Battery lasts long even when playing music.

Only gripe is how much it weighs. Probably adds 5 pounds to alexa.

Description

The Ninety7 SKY TOTE is a portable battery base accessory for the Amazon Echo (2nd Gen) that provides cordless freedom, letting you unplug and take Alexa anywhere you choose. SKY’s powerful, lithium-ion rechargeable battery allows up to 8* unplugged hours of use.

Use it everywhere I go! Hooks up to blue-tooth great, I also bought a protective sleeve for my beach trips! :) Well worth it if you travel with your music!

Can take Alexa anywhere, and the charge last a very long time, ive never had it run out

We already own an Echo Tap, but the sound from the Echo (2nd Generation) is louder and of higher quality. Of course, the Echo Tap runs off an internal battery while the Echo must be plugged into to an AC socket--until now, that is.

The Ninety7 SKY TOTE Portable Battery Base for Amazon Echo is intended to allow portable use of the Echo (2nd Generation) by combining an sleeve with a rechargeable 8800mAh lithium-ion battery. Simply remove the sleeve that came with the Echo 2nd Generation, use the supplied pick tool to remove a rubber plug in the Echo's base, orient it and slide it into the SKY TOTE sleeve. Not only will you now have a battery operated Echo, you'll also have a spare pick if you happen to play a guitar. (Yes the tool is a standard guitar pick!)

Unfortunately, you will loose whatever colored sleeve you ordered with your Echo. The SKY TOTE Portable Battery Base, like the Model T Ford, comes with any color that you like as long as it is black. I can live with that since, if I ever want to, I can easily revert to my old, gray colored sleeve and forfeit the battery capability. I do wish, however, that Ninety7 had provided a slot in their case for the rubber plug. I'm sure that the Echo would run without it if it becomes lost when I want to retrograde to the old case, but it's there for a reason.

Oh yes, there is another difference between the Echo Tap and the Echo 2nd Generation--weight! The Echo is heavier then the Tap even without the SKY TOTE Portable Battery Base. Add in the weight of the case and the addition of a built-in handle (hence the "tote" in the name) becomes important. It makes the extra weight much easier to manage. It's a thoughtful addition to the SKY TOTE.

Without doing any "scientific" testing, a simple listening test seems to indicate that the sleeve does nothing to reduce the audio quality from the Echo. We now use the SKY TOTE Portable Battery Base for listening to music on our deck. The Echo Tap isn't going anywhere, we will still use it. However, it is very nice to have the truly wireless alternative with superior audio provided by the SKY TOTE Portable Battery Base.

I just bought my Echo 2 and when it arrived, I didn't realize how heavy it was, so the handle on the SKY TOTE comes in super handy as you move around your house (and perfect for BBQs out on the deck!) and take Alexa with you - love the portability! Its awesome to be able to "unplug" and not worry about being near an electric outlet. Thinking of buying an Echo 2, or already have one? Then pick-up this nifty battery base as it is a great addition and makes Alexa that much better! Ninety7 SKY TOTE Portable Battery Base for Echo 2 Black/Carbon

The "sleeve" battery base installs very easily. After I unsleeve the Echo 2 from the wooden cylinder, (by pushing the bottom center upward and it slides out), and removed the rubber cover of the power connectors, it basically just slides down to the battery base very easily. After charing one full night, for the sake of making sure works well, I reset the Echo (pressing the mic and volume down for 20 seconds) and everything works fine after.
The size with the battery base is now almost identical (but a little bigger) than the Ultimate Ear Megaboom, (I have the blue one). The sound quality of the Megaboom is still better but now the Echo 2 is fully mobile without a power cable. The battery lasts over 10 hours of nonstop music. This is a great and ingenious addition to the Echo. Great job!
