Lots of people have reported issues with the app but I haven't had a problem. The only little glitch is the timing for it's syncing to fitbit. If you get your hourly reminder to get your steps in with 10 minutes left in the hour, you are unlikely to make your goal with Cubii because it won't sync in time and it credits your steps for the time when it does sync, not when you actually used the Cubii. Just missed my 9:00 hour goal despite using Cubii continuously starting at 9:45 and getting far over the 150 steps I needed to finish my goal.
I'm pleased by the fact that I can feel when I've been using the machine, so it really is working muscles. So far I've only had the resistance at 2 but next week I plan to bump it up. Being tied to a desk all day, I feel like this is a great solution to improve my level of activity and having my Cubii at work even inspired me to make a desk platform for my treadmill at home, so I can keep up the movement when I'm working from home.
I was a little worried about charging the Cubii charged but it appears to go for a while between charges. So far I've only charged it once and it still shows that it's mostly charged. It's good to know that you don't have to charge it all the time- maybe a couple times of month if my experience so far holds..
There's a lot of evidence that shows the dangers of desk jobs and Cubii was something I could do to try to be healthier in my work hours. I still walk the dog, hike, and work out beyond the office and Cubii does not replace other forms of exercise - it just increases the level of activity I can fit in on a work day. And while it's hard to tell yet if that extra calorie burn is making a difference on the scale, I did not put on weight during a long weekend out of town, which seems encouraging. I'll have to see how that part goes with time.
So unlike almost everyone else in these reviews, I did not buy this for use under my desk. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 29 this past July, and as such, had to undergo chemo and more recently, surgery (but chemo worked! So it was worth all the misery). I unfortunately gained 15 lbs with chemo (steroids and chemotherapy-induced menopause somehow outweigh the nausea, although I am eternally grateful for Zofran), and it also made me anemic, so the fatigue was a lingering side effect. Based on the recommendation of literally every health professional at my cancer center, exercise can actually counteract the fatigue and make me feel better about my recent weight gain. I knew after surgery I would be barred from exercise for awhile, but walking is pretty much always acceptable, and I knew the Cubii would be pretty low impact/not require arm movement. I use it while watching tv and sitting on an exercise ball (in a base, because I didn’t survive cancer and cancer treatment just to roll away and break a leg), and it syncs to my Fitbit so I actually get steps counted (versus my arm exercises that trick my Fitbit into thinking I’m active). I love it. I actually wish I’d gotten it earlier in treatment. So while I’m sure it’s a great at-work device, it’s also great for cancer patients - it’s made me feel more like a productive person if I can hit my basic goals (and yes, it does somewhat help with the fatigue).
This seems to be a very well built machine and is almost completely silent when in use. I wish it was easier to adjust the position of the device and the chair more easily when the wheel locks are in place. It takes a while for me to get the angle on the device, the angle on the chair, and the distance of the chair the way I want it. I sit turned to the left monitor (I have two), so everything needs to be on an angle so my legs are still straight when I use the Cubii. I realize if I switched to a chair without roller wheels it would be easier, but I'm not giving up my super supportive chair. With how heavy it is anyway, I'm surprised they didn't just put a charger in there so you could pedal and charge the device as an alternative to having it plugged in all of the time.
Pros:
-Super easy to put together.
-Very quiet, almost silent.
-the App works fine for me but I wish it included a %battery and not just a visual bar (I like numbers) and an indicator that it is charging.
-addicting to use, maybe too much without working up to it because I think it uses different muscles than my typical walking or workout videos (I am feeling like I am getting shin splints just from 0.5 miles and today is the first day using it) from using it on and off while surfing the internet for an hour.
Cons:
-Very heavy, especially when you consider you will be moving it around underneath a desk, which makes it difficult to use proper body mechanics. However, the heaviness does help keep it in place, so not a total con.
-I had hoped to move this to other rooms when doing different activities, but I am afraid it's staying right where it is.
-The port where the micro USB goes in does not seem to be that well made, compared to the rest of the Cubii. it is somewhat difficult to plug in the micro USB and makes me never want to unplug it again either ... I'll unplug the USB adapter from the power when needed rather than crawl under my desk with a flashlight to unplug and plug it in.
I am rated 100% Disabled due to Permanent Progressive Multiple Sclerosis meaning my life had suddenly become largely sedentary and my “go to” mobility device is a Scooter. With the Cubii Pro Elliptical poised in front of the sliding glass door that looked out on a tree-flanked brook,I have found I can move my scooter along side the Cubii, turn the seat to 90 degrees and get exercise daily. I am delighted with the fact it is Bluetoothed to my phone which tallies my strides, minutes and calories and allows me to keep track of it daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.
I love my Cubii so much that I got a second unit to give as a gift to my brother. We both have diabetes so being able to move your legs when you’re forced to sit at work is so important and using my Cubii helps keep my legs from getting sore and swollen from sitting in an office chair so much.

Cubii was invented to help reduce risk for heart disease, diabetes, & encourage weight loss.I have owned the Cubii for a little over a week so far, and I have to say I am really in love with it. There was a bit of an adjustment period for me getting used to peddling on the Cubii while performing my work tasks, but I found that after this brief period of adjustment I was well on my way to more active sitting (lol). I am a pretty active guy who happens to work a sedentary job as an accountant. Cubii helps to keep me a bit more active while in the office, and to reach my over all body fat reduction/strength training goals. I've lost a pound over the past week, without weight loss even being my goal. I believe Cubii is good for those who are trying to incorporate more activity into their sedentary lifestyles, or who are trying to add another element in reaching their goals for weight loss and overall fitness. I also find the app enjoyable and informative. I discovered with a couple hours of peddling a day I can realistically burn about 200-300 calories. I am certain you can burn significantly more if you put more effort(and peddling time) into it. :)
Overall, I really reccomend any office worker give this a shot!
**Update5/9/17: I have now owned my Cubii for over a month. My job is mostly sedentary as an accountant so it is nice that I am able to burn an additional 200-300 calories a day that I would not otherwise burn without the Cubii. I was having some knee paid for about a week using it and discovered that it was because I was not sitting close enough to the unit. For those of you who may be experiencing some knee discomfort while using it, it is very likely because you're sitting too far from it, in an awkward angle(too far to to the left or right) or your posture is wrong. I have found that bringing my chair closer to my desk and angling the Cubii to more align with me has fixed that issue. I have dropped a waist size along with 6 pounds since the day I started using Cubii along with my strength training and some modest dietary changes(stopped drinking milk and consuming dairy regularly and less fast food).
I also started using Fitbit recently and really like that my activity on Cubii is syncing with Fitbit. It syncs up the step-equivalents I take on to Fitbit and calories burned which is really cool. Unfortunately it does not track active minutes on Cubii and I don't think your Cubii stats end up in the community competition(which they shoud since elliptical, treadmill, cycling, and everything else does). I'll have to put that into Fitbit's community suggesions and would suggest you do too.
I am so glad I purchased this. I sit at a desk all day so I am pretty much completely sedentary during work hours. I will use this to keep moving throughout the day and keep my metabolism up. I have a thyroid issue and I've found that I see much better results with shorter more frequent workouts so this is perfect. I'll use this at work and at home I have a recumbent bike. It was very easy to put together and it is whisper quiet. People come into my office and cannot even tell I am using it. Very very sturdy and well constructed. Yes it's a little pricey but it's worth it. Highly recommend!
The Cubii is GREAT! It's easy to put together, easy to use (and pair with the free Cubii app) and very quiet. I've tried other under-desk exercise equipment that require more leg height, the Cubii requires very little under desk height and low risk of banging your knees against the desk. It feels sturdy and well built. It feels like a natural, less cumbersome movement than other under-desk exercisers, and it's easy to use (not distracting) while working. Next thing you know, you've easily logged 10,000 steps! You'll certainly feel it in your leg muscles once you get up and walk around - Cubii works! I dropped 5 lbs in 2 weeks - I was also motivated to change my eating habits to a strict Paleo/grain-free diet to see more results. I started at resistance level 1 and jumped to 2 after a week. I love that it offers 8 different levels of resistance.
I highly recommend Cubii. They have STELLAR customer service! Fitness Cubed (makers of Cubii) customer service goes above and beyond to make sure you're pleased with your Cubii, especially if you have any concerns or questions.
I'm VERY pleased and highly recommend Cubii for anyone who has a sedentary job. This elliptical will get you moving, your blood flowing, your heart rate up and you'll see results as long as you keep using it!
(Sorry the pics are rotated... I assure you, the originals are not but when Amazon uploads them, the pics rotate for some reason)
I purchased my Cubii a little over a month ago, and loved it right from the start. It was easy to assemble, easy to connect to Bluetooth and really fun seeing my stats at the end of the day - especially realizing I pedaled six miles mindlessly! It's very quiet - my co-workers said if and when they heard anything, they thought I turned my desk fan on. The wheel stoppers are great for my desk chair wheels. I find I only need them on resistance 6 or higher where, without them, I push myself away every time I pedal. I feel like my back hurts less now while sitting for 8 hours a day, and I could really feel it working in my thighs. I ran into an issue where I could not recharge my Cubii which I think was just a weird fluke. I contacted customer service via email and Justyna was amazing to converse with and she stayed with me from start to finish. When it became apparent that I'd need a replacement, she shipped one out to me in the same color I'd purchased and also sent me a label to send my original back. She also sent me a Cubii shirt! I love it! I'm back in business and not only happy with the product, but super impressed with the customer service. Thanks, Cubii!
I received my Cubii Desk Elliptical w/Built In Display Monitor on 12/20/17. When I first ordered it I thought that I didn’t need to spend the extra $100 for the Built In Display Monitor, but I was mistaken.
Having always been an exerciser I knew that I needed more, a lot more activity, especially as I’m getting older. I’m retired, age 63. It’s been hard the past several years, caring for my dad until he passed away, 2 moves, feet/achilles trouble, eye trouble, and on and on. One new problem after another keeps cropping up and hinders me from being active and I’m sitting way too much. I look at other people and as they are aging, their walking, etc. is getting slower, can’t get the weight off, etc. I was able to get 10 lbs. off prior to getting the Cubii, but stalled out for 6 weeks. That’s despite strictly following a non-sugar eating plan, etc.
I have a lot of work to do at my desk (not social media). My husband put the Cubii together very quickly and put it under my desk. That was the evening of 12/20/17.
I love, love, love the Cubii. The app is cool, easy to use. I don’t care about the Calories burned or the Minutes. But the Strides and Miles I like. Love the woman on the bike and how she stops and puts her foot down when I stop. I love the Progress and Dashboard, don’t care about the others. That being said, the whole app is great and there are challenges, groups, etc. that you can be a part of. I’ve decide that I want to create my own trip.
Almost from the beginning, my weight moved down on the scale. I’m officially down 5 lbs as of this morning. I’m on my feet a whole lot more every day and my legs feel a lot better. I want to get up and do things, which I now do a lot during the day. Even in the evening, if I’m watching tv, I’m getting up every 20-30 minutes, doing things. If I read I do it at my desk with my legs moving. As I’m writing this I’m going a steady 110-120 strides per minute. It’s smooth and my upper body moves just a little. During the day I do short sprints increasing the strides up to 200 strides per minute for short stretches.
I’ve told a couple friends about it, will tell more when they observe changes in me, not me telling them. Also, I view it this way. $350 is $1.00/day for 1-year. Isn’t my health worth that? We have enough trouble as we get older. I hope this gives me somewhat of an edge. Ok, I’m at 15,150 strides and 6.1 miles.
