This thing is amazing. Seriously. Our phone was ringing at least ten times a day and of those maybe one would be someone I wanted to talk to. 90% of the calls stopped as soon as I plugged it in, and over the past week I have been adding the others. The best thing? With this puppy the phone doesn't "ring once" like it does with other blockers or the "block" from my phone/cable company (not VOIP - we use Cox). Having a phone ring "half a ring" before it is blocked is annoying. This solves that problem since it sits between the wall and the phone so it analyzes the number before the signal gets to the phone to ring it. Awesome technology. We were to the point we were going to get rid of our home phone due to the blind dial calls ("hello, this is Windows support"), the Out of Area calls and the Political "can I have three minutes of your time" and then you spend 30 minutes listening to someone read asinine questions about a bunch of clowns running for office. All of those are gone now. I seriously wish I could give this 10 stars. My sanity is slowly returning.
As the owner of a service company a good portion of my work day is spent answering the phone and I am so tired of all the marking calls, even with the Do Not Call Registry there are a ton of calls that still come in. We have about 8 phone lines that are incoming and even if each line gets on call a day that is 8 waste my time calls I have to field through. I resorted to the handy internet and discovered this little gem. Money well spent let me tell you, It came quickly was easy to install, unplug a phone line and plug it into the device and plug the power cord in the the outlet and viola we are on our way to freedom for marketing calls, There are a number of calls that I know the device has stopped with the preset numbers that are installed when it arrives as I have had several calls that I hear a brief ring and that is all, plus I have blocked 27 additional numbers since installing the device, my picture was this morning showing 25 and I have blocked two more today, woohoo, I smile every time I block a number. I really love this device. The other plus is I learned there is an app you can download onto your phone and block calls on it also. As a night time caregiver for my 98 year old mother, my morning sleep is the only thing that keeps me physically able to go on. I thank God that I found the CPR V5000 Call Blocker on Amazon and bought it. The plague of my existence up until now have been the infernal Telemarketers and other incessant ‘nuisance’ calls that has kept my phone ringing the entire time I’m trying to sleep. Sleep deprivation is one of the worst experiences that anyone can have and it leads to all kinds of health issues like depression, anxiety, all the way up to major heart problems. I have experienced some of these issues and I blame these callers directly for these problems. Ever since I bought and set up the call blocker, I have been able to sleep right through the morning hours and get up feeling refreshed and ready to do what I need to do before going over to take care of my mother all night.
The CPR call blocker has taught me how precious the phrase “Silence Is Golden” is in my life right now and I thank those who worked to create a way for people like myself to protect not only their privacy, but their health and sanity as well.
Here in South Texas my service provider is “Grande Communications.” I read reviews on Amazon and watched ever video on ‘U-Tube’ in order to learn how to set up the machine and use it properly. Some reviewers said that you had to set it up the ‘parallel’ way in the USA, but with my Grande service the call blocker worked using the ‘direct’ set up. It was a ‘plug and play’ installation with Grande and once I added the other suggested codes listed in the instruction manual including all 800 numbers to the machine, it has kept me free from unwanted calls. I have only had to use the BIG RED BUTTON a few times to block calls that got through and I couldn’t be happier with how well the machine works. In the South we say, “Revenge is Sweet” and “Pay Back Is Hell” and I actually LOVE pressing the red button when the opportunity arises. This is a great way to teach these invaders in our private lives the meaning of “NO!”
I would HIGHLY recommend this call blocker to anyone that would stand still long enough to listen to me. Get one and get them GONE out of your life!
CPR V5000 telephone junk calls blocker.
I obtained this blocker around 12/30/2015 (not from Amazon) and installed it 12/31/2015. It was quite easy to install on my telephone system – just insert it in the line before the telephone base station (VTech). All necessary parts to install the device were included and the instructions were quite easy to understand.
I then proceeded to enter 41 known junk telephone numbers with no problem at all. I entered them using my telephone’s remote handset just as they were displayed on the callerID display of our telephone, nothing required changing. In the time I’ve used this blocker I have gained 4 more junk phone numbers. I added these numbers to the original 41 simply be recalling them from the call history (after the call ended) and pushing the large red “Block” button on the V5000 blocker. The blocker display showed the word “Successful” and the blocked number count (always shown on the display when the blocker is “at rest”) incremented by 1 each time. I was able to easily view all the blocked numbers simply by pressing an up arrow button marked “Block List” and then using the up or down arrow buttons as desired to scroll through the list of numbers. When I stopped scrolling, the display would go back to the default blocked number count after a short interval. Once again, I appreciated the capability of being able to scroll through the call list of recent call numbers (press the down arrow marked “Call List”) and quickly select any junk number to block by pressing the red “Block” button while the desired junk number is displayed.
The blocker worked perfectly and blocked any junk number I had entered manually or used the red “Block” button. I should note that the CPR V5000 has the capability of holding up to 1500 junk numbers – it should take quite a while to reach this total – at least where I live. I understand that the V5000 also contains some 5000 known junk numbers from around the world and will block these numbers with no input from the user. I did not see any evidence of strange numbers being blocked so I don’t know if the blocker displays any information when (if) it blocks one of the 5000 pre-programmed junk numbers. Please note: The pre-programmed numbers are not accessible to the user and cannot be viewed, changed or deleted nor can more numbers be added to this list.
I did not get the opportunity to perform a remote block using the #2 buttons on the telephone’s remote handset. However, I don’t think this capability is necessary for us because of being able to recall the caller’s phone number to the blocker’s display and then simply pressing the red “Block” button any time after the call has disconnected while the recalled number is displayed.
I can only think of one annoyance item that we experienced with the blocker (which did not affect the blocker’s primary functions). When a “good” call comes in, the callerID information is inserted 2ce into our telephone’s callerID memory. This gets a bit annoying when scrolling through the telephone’s call history when the same caller information is displayed twice.
I think the CPR V5000 blocker is a good investment. With the capability of adding 1500 junk phone numbers into its memory, most people will probably never need to edit the “Block List” to remove junk numbers that have become dormant over time.
The CPR V5000 was easy to install and worked as advertised. I used the 'series' wiring and I don't get any one-time rings and the caller id data for non-blocked calls pass smoothly to my phone. I use a wireless system with several handsets and haven't noticed a difference in operations other than many of my unwanted calls are now blocked. I particularly like the ability to add a call to the blocked list using the phone handset in addition to the big red button.
Since I have my phone base station mounted on the wall, I needed to order a couple of reversed 2 foot phone cords as the included cords were too short. They'd be fine for a desk mounted phone, though.
I hate spending money for peace and quiet in my own house ,but 6 calls in 5 minutes the other day pushed me over the edge.
Haven't heard from my friend 'Ashley' from credit card services for weeks. Kind of miss her. Not!

Best call blocker EVER! I purchased this one to replace the one I already had (different brand). It quickly filled up with blocked numbers and I couldn't add anymore. It was ineffective at blocking 'out of area,' private, and 'unavailable' calls. Also, the phone would have to ring once before the call was blocked. It was time to buy a new one. After reading the reviews of CPR V5000 Call Blocker, I said, 'Why not?' and bought one.
This call blocker is the best at call blocking, simply the best. You probably can't get any better than this. It's huge. After connecting it and 'activating' the preset block lists, I received ZERO unwanted phone calls during the first 24 hours of use. Typically, I would receive about a dozen per day. So far, I've only had to manually block four phone calls, just four. Another big plus is that blocked calls do not ring at all, which is great. If you are tired of receiving robo-calls, scam calls from people claiming to be with the IRS, political calls, calls from telemarketers, out of area calls, etc., this is the gadget for you. Blocking calls is as simple as pushing a button.
CPR V5000 telephone call blocker.
I obtained this blocker 11-06-17 and installed it. It was easy to install before the telephone base station with the included instructions. The first 3 or 4 days after installation, the number of incoming calls were reduced approximately 90%. However, the incoming call list did not seem to register calls, and there were no listings on the blocked list. The caller ID continued to work as designed on the phone display and remote hand sets. I did have the opportunity to use the large red “Block button” on a couple of occasions, but still no calls were shown on blocked list or on the blocked indicator. Then on the fifth or sixth day I was rereading reviews and and the blocker's instructions and realized that I had not installed the DSL filter on the incoming line. I then installed the filter and voila all features (blocked call list, call list, etc.) worked as designed. As a sidelight this also cured a problem with being knocked offline on the computer when the phone was answered. In the time I’ve used this blocker I have had the opportunity to use the #2 feature and found that it works as indicated. I have also recalled numbers from the call history (from missed calls) and pushing the button on the V5000 blocker. The blocker display showed the word “Successful” and the blocked number count went up 1 each time. I can only think of one annoyance item that I have experienced with the blocker (which did not affect the blocker’s primary functions). As luck would have it, I was writing this review when the phone rang and the ID displayed a number I did not recognize. I used the #2 function and continued. I checked the blocker and all was good, I then researched the number and found it to be a bogus number. I feel the CPR V5000 blocker was a good investment. I now only get one or two bogus calls every few days, but this number is expected to go down as the number of repeats gets entered into the blocked list and by selecting particular area codes to block.
This CPR V5000 call blocker has worked for me as advertised by the manufacturer since I bought it and installed it 4 weeks ago. For the record, I get my phone service via Mediacom cable company VOIP internet phone service. My digital phone is AT&T Model TL92271 DECT 6.0. I installed the call blocker in series ahead of my AT&T phone per manufacturer instructions. My answering feature on my phone works as before; caller ID info (when provided by incoming caller) is displayed on the phone display; caller ID info (when provided by incoming caller) is also verbally announced by the phone as before ... so all phone features continue without any issues.
My initial set up included manually entering the six or so codes recommended by manufacturer: withheld/private numbers, unknown callers, international/out of area callers, etc ... these can be found on the manufacturer's web site and are also listed on the call blocker user guide. Then I manually blocked out general toll free area codes: 800, 844, 855, 866, 877, 888. Then I blocked Washington DC area code 202 then manually blocked most of Chicago's area codes because these historically have been the source of abusive robo callers ... and we have no colleagues in either city that we want to get calls from. After that, I blocked out individual robo calls that were made from other locals. To date, I have 34 blocked area codes and/or individual phone numbers. After four weeks of use and tailoring of blocked numbers we are very pleased that our daily robo calls are gone save for an occasional 'new one' that arrives ... but manually blocking such a robo call now is painless by stepping through incoming calls then pressing the 'delete' button -- bingo, it's gone.
The political season is now upon us as we march toward November elections. I expect new robo calls will be coming and I'll block them after their first attempts ... won't have to deal with repeated home interruptions.
This call blocker has been a good investment for our home and it has worked with our phone / phone service without issue.
WOW! What a wonderful boon to human kind. I was getting 3-5 telemarketing calls per day, many of them robocalls. In the 2 weeks since I installed the Call Blocker, I've had to block a grand total of only 13 calls - less than one per day. The 5000 blocked numbers it has built in clearly do most of the trick. When a telemarketer does get past that list, it's a very simple matter to hit the red button and kill the call - permanently. Not near the red button and using a cordless phone? Just hit #2 and the call is immediately and permanently blocked. Get calls at the crack of dawn? Block a given number once and it will never awaken you again.
But wait! Suppose you accidentally block a number you later realize you shouldn't have blocked - like your wife's cell phone! No problem. It's very simple to remove that number from the blocked call list (if you really want to!).
To give you a better idea of my experience before getting the Call Blocker, I actually did have a phone set with a button on each cordless that will block the call permanently. It held 250 blocked numbers. In a matter of months I had maxed out the 250. The Call Blocker is far better and holds 1500 blocked calls.
Buy one of these. You will be ecstatic that you did!

The Blocker is still working great. By the way, this thing doesn't just block robocalls; it blocks any call you want to block.
This thing works right out of the box. I was going to get a cheaper one, but after reading the solid reviews on the CPR V5000 I decided to save up for this one. The first thing that instantly put a smile on my face was NO POWER CORD! That's right. No batteries, no wall wart, just plug into your phone line. Done. No programming to do, No complicated instructions. Just plug-it-in. Annoying call comes in? Just tap the big red button and it is gone forever (unless it was a mistake then you can easily unblock).
If you want to get into the advanced parts, they have that too. You can program a list of numbers you want to block with your phone's number pad. Pretty darn easy. Press **# then the number, then # again to let it know you are done. Awesome! The preprogrammed database of spam numbers automatically stopped the majority of unwanted calls. Immediately! Works with Ooma too!
