So far so good. This is really quiet. I would like it more if the piece that covers the bulb were not plastic, but I'll live with it. It was hard to put up in our situation. Not a fault of the product, but it wasn't simple. Very clean and streamlined. I like. I wish I hadn't taken so long to replace the old one.
I was doubtful, even after reading the reviews, that this would work as it was so cheap. It does brilliantly! You will need to get yourself some electric cord to do the wiring as they only give you about 8 inches of wire. Apart from that, it is so easy to install (15 mins completely). It pulls the cooking smells and steam up into it's filter so now i don't end up with pink cheeks whilst standing over the stove! There is limited smell of cooking in the room, let alone the rest of the house. The light is great too.
I purchased the biscuit coloured hood as my cabinets are pale cream and it matches almost exactly! I'm sure the $400 hoods are the bomb, but for $40 this is superb (having never had a hood before i can't compare). But it's the best Christmas present to date!
It’s a simple install except for the fact that it’s not a plug for the power, but simple enough if you can connect wires and have wires to connect to. It came with no damage and had everything but the wire connectors and light bulb. I was simply replacing the one in the house we are leasing that was dented and nasty.

Wish I could get filters just like the one that came with unit. They are very quiet but very hard to find. The aftermarket filters work but are aren't as quiet.
This was super easy to install and get up and running. I used the power cord kit that can be purchased separately instead of hard wiring this unit and that was super easy as well. I'm no electrician but if you can read instructions then this is a no-brainer. The unit also works very well as I cook in only cast iron which means smoke just happens. This unit takes care of that problem with ease as well. Can't beat it for the price.

This is a replacement for the old hood that came with our house. Pretty much the same type but nice and sturdy and the color is a perfect match for my stove (biscuit). It was also very well packed.
Solid product at a good price. Easy to install, does what it is supposed to do. Light is nice and bright, but if we stoop to look underneath -- can understand why others recommend this not be used in a place where there would be a view of the light from below. If a person were 5'"2 or smaller, this could be a consideration. Happily, I am taller than that, and I love the increased lighting for the stovetop. .
This was an exact replacement for my 40 year old original.
Matched right up to old holes so install was fast and easy for the price i couldn't ask for better
Perfect fit. However, it's designed to have its electrical connection above the unit. I had to drill a hole on the side of the fan enclosure to allow me to run the electrical cord to an outlet on the side of my stove.
