I bought this because it looked like it would work for my Dometic and I was right. Now I don't have to worry about the plug shaking out on the dirt roads.
It is easy to not see the threads, but the ARB frig plug does thread into this socket. On my first camping trip, the frig became unplugged because I thought there wasn't any threads. But, the threads are there, so I will not be having that problem again. But, be careful not to tighten it too tight as the outer housing hole is circular and will not stop the inner plug from turning. The inner plug is round but has two flat surfaces that could have been used to lock it in place, but were not used. There is also a plastic locking nut which hold the inner plug in place and it can jump the threads if tightened too tight. You would probably like to tighten it real tight, but you will probably have to settle for snug.
Highly recommended if you want a near plug and play way too power your ARB Fridge/Freezer. Usually all of the accessory wiring in you vehicle is way to small to properly power a Fridge. You either need this item or to put something together together using 8 gauge wire with a fuse going straight to your battery. This kit also comes with a screw-in plug connection (this fits your ARB Fridge plug) so the Fridge plug won't be popping out while you are bouncing down the road. The wire supplied was plenty long enough to mount the Fridge on the rear passenger side of my 4 door Jeep. Since you want to use the shortest wire possible to get to your preferred plug location you will need to cut the plug side of the wiring and install the supplied end clips yourself. I would recommend soldering this connection if you can. The battery connection terminals and fuse holder (with fuse included) are pre-installed and ready to go. This was a simple DIY project and will supply the correct voltage to your ARB Fridge/Freezer.
Great addition to my ARB 50 Qt Fridge...when you take the 12V lighter adaptor issued with the ARB Fridge and unscrew it there is an internal plug that goes directly into this connector and then it screws into it so it will not back out or fall off....This is very important for 4 wheeling...
I honestly bought this wire to hook up an inverter inside my vehicle. Instead of using the included difficult 12V contraption that they included (which is not a straight forward 12V plug outlet), I hooked up an inverter instead. This way not only could I plug in the ARB Fridge, but multiple other things as well. The wire is sturdy, thick and has a fuse built inline. I was very happy with this wire and bought it multiple times for different applications.

This worked for exactly what I needed. I don't think it says this anywhere, but you don't have to mount it as pictured. You can easily take out the plug and mount it flush on a wall like a normal 12V cigarette lighter port. Think of it as an ARB proprietary sized cigarette lighter plug.
As you know, normal "cigarette lighter" style 12v sockets are just terrible and the plugs fall out constantly.
Do you want to come back to spoiled food?
So this product seems necessary for your ARB fridge and should probably just come with it.
You can remove the actual socket from the housing. I did and mounted it in 1/2" plywood.
I have my fridge running 24x7 in My Jeep and this thing gives me peace of mind when I am driving that my food is being kept at temp. I think this is a MUST HAVE if you use your fridge either alot or all the time like I do. Item is very high quality and I have had no issues - been running constantly for over a year.
I know by using this setup there will be no problems with wiring size or fitment, and there wasn't. Keeps plug snug in its receptacle.
I'm ordering my 3rd one of these kits today, one for each vehicle, and one for my pop up camper. The factory 12v adapters on most cars don't carry enough amperage to keep the fridge below 30* in the summer, but with this kit I have no problem hitting 5*. I
