So I've been nesting hard core. I'm 9 months pregnant. I needed something to occupy my time. I ordered these to make bracelets. The ones I bought from Walmart and target tore half way through my knots, and it completely runined my progress. I ended up throwing it all away and giving up. I bought these hoping they would be different. THANK GOD that they were!! They were durable enough for the strings to knotted together. They wouldn't get thinner and rip like the ones from the stores. If you're looking for bracelet strings, these are amazing!
I am learning embroidery and I ordered this pack. I love all the colors and the quality of the floss. It also comes with pack of needles so I dint have to buy needles separately. I am having fun stress relief time doing my projects.
These worked out well for my crochet project. However, they aren't made as well as DMC, this is why they are cheaper. They are cotton and the colors are very pretty. I posted a pic showing this brand versus the DMC, the orange is the DMC.
I have to say, I was skeptical about the quality of this thread when I saw how inexpensive it was.
I am just beginning to make my own patterns and I initially imagined I would just use this floss as backup for small accent stitching if/when I didn't have a specific craft store brand color at my disposal.
I was pleasantly surprised at the nice quality of the product and with the range of colors I received. I have completed several pieces using this floss exclusively and I am happy to report it is strong and I haven't noticed any more knotting with this thread compared to more expensive craft store brands.
The colors are lovely and the guide to colors has the dmc numbers on it. I have not used on a piece of clothing and washed it to test for running and durability. I will update if there is a problem. I purchased a winder for the bobbins and like my yarn winder, this makes life SOOO much easier for such cheap change. I also got a ring with bobbins for projects and a box to keep the bobbins in that I am not using. The whole thing is so much more portable. I have a zipper pouch that holds my larger frame, my needle case, bobbins with colors for my project and the project guide folded up. I spend alot of time waiting it seems and making up a kit for embroidery or other needle arts is how I get stuff done

So many colors....! Great assortment! Bought as extra floss for cross-stitching kits that never include enough anymore. It's slightly thicker than the floss in those kits, but only because I know to look that carefully. I noticed that it will break on occasion, but not very often if you work with shorter strands (18" or so), but I'm using it for a different purpose than it was intended and pulling on it length-wise with a needle (packaging emphasizes friendship bracelets, and it would obviously not break doing those).
The colors I received were more of a Spring shade and less of a primary shade, which posed a bit of a problem as this was being used for Christmas crafts, but at the same time the colors were so beautiful that they were used regardless. I do recommend this product. The thread is just like DMC as far as durability, but know that they don't have color numbers to use for specific needlepoint crafts.
I really like the colors of the strings, however they don't have their unique numbering like I thought they would. I'm glad I didn't purchase labels for them because it would have been a waste of money. I plan on using these for handmade bracelets, which I know will go great because the quality of the floss is great! I was just disappointed that they didn't come with numbering. They shipped quickly which I also appreciate. Colors are pretty as well and they do come with the pack of free needles. Nice inclusion.
The colors aren't as intense as pictured in the ad. As a matter of fact, they are rather washed out looking. I had started to buy 2 sets of this floss, I am glad I decided against that.
I am very happy with this purchase. I have used the items and they work well for my needs. I teach kids how to sew (like felt projects). The thread is a little dry, so a little lotion or the wax works to make it smooth works great. The color selection was nice, and I have more than one of each shade. The colors are current and vary from pastel to brights. The colors are not tagged with any numbers, so I am not sure this would work for everyone. The price was great, and the box is perfect. It arrived quickly, which is always a plus!!
I will reorder again, and I recommend.
