Here's the thing - this mount was extra simple to install, and worked right out of the package as promised. The only issue I had initially was that when it's in place, it blocks the display on my radio. I know what my preset stations are, but still. I also felt the mount seemed like it was cheaply made and made me question the durability of it.

Having said that, for the first couple of weeks I've been using this, it's worked beautifully. However, in week three, one of the holders is suddenly having issues with snapping into place to hold my phone. I have to use extra pressure to push the button to get both sides of the holders to click into place when I didn't initially. That may or may not come from my daughter pulling my phone off of the mount, as opposed to pressing the two buttons which properly releases it.

I don't want to taint the overall rating by hypothesizing on how it might continue to perform in the future, so I'll say this for now - the idea of a mount that fit in the dash into the CD slot seemed to me like a cool idea. There were quite a few to choose from, I selected this one based on the simplicity showcased in the demo video and it has done what its supposed to do since I put it in my car. So there.

Have this in my 2014 Ford Escape with the Ford mytouch display. This is a great fit and doesn't block the screen. I chose it for its slim design and one hand easy insert and release. I had to use the bracket attachment for a snug fit. It was a little tricky installing because of the placement of the CD drive but it's in there snug and I'm liking it! Might buy one to replace my hubbys magnetic one.

This is awesome! My friend has a dash mount holder by iOttie, but I've never had much luck with those & don't like any of my sight blocked. I don't use my cd player, so this seemed like a perfect solution, although it may not work for everyone depending on your dash. I'm using it in my 2017 Ford Focus and it really doesn't block anything I need access to (would not work as well in my 2015 Mustang since it would block the climate controls).

At first, I didn't understand how to use the lever lock on the bottom. So you put the device together, which is pretty easy, insert it into your cd player slot, then there's a little lever hanging down by the cd slot. I thought that was some sort of stabilizer that was meant to hang down against the dash, but it's actually a lever that expands the pieces in your cd player to hold it super tightly in place. once I had that down, it was rock solid locked in place.

I have an iPhone 6+ in an Otterbox case, but it fits just fine. If not, there's additional pads to help hold your device in place. And it really is one-handed release, if you can reach the tabs & push them in.

Final verdict: I'd highly recommend this and other iOttie phone mount devices. They're great products for a reasonable price.

I used this product in a Volkswagen and Jeep fitting perfectly. There is a little vibration but that is to be expected because the mount is small and has decent support. I used an iPhone 6s Plus as well as the Galaxy Note 5 with no support issues. Good luck!!! and yes I would recommend it.

Just what I was looking for. A great alternative to sticking something bulky on your windshield or your AC vents. This worked great for my car and fit snugly into the CD slot without impairing my view or taking up too much space.

I was very impressed with how easy it was to put in place and how simple and effortless it is to remove / insert the phone and change viewing angle, rotation, tilt, etc. I also loved that there is not modification required to the phone for it to be used with this holder and it works with the bare phone and even with a bulky phone case.

The only drawback is that I suspect it is more prone to shake on bumpy roads than windshield mounts would be. But this is hands down better than any AC vent mount. But the level of shake on most roads is unnoticeable, hence I still believe it is worth 5 starts

I should have thought this through a little more... The product works great! Just not for me... (Not deserving of a bad review.)

I have a 2016 Nissan Frontier as a daily driver & work truck. It has a backup camera. This mount blocks the screen when my phone is clamped in, rendering it useless for backup camera, music information, clock, and anything else. Function-wise, the mount works perfectly! Had to use the supplied bracket for the CD slot in my truck, and the phone has the usual bounce. Nothing crazy. Never worried about it dropping my phone. I will keep this as a backup in case my iOttie One Touch 3 (v2.0) decides to break.

I like this mount quite a bit. The CD slot clamp is the best I've seen yet...probably the most narrow and thin I've seen yet, with quite a firm grip once clamped. My main criticism is with the phone gripper. I have an iPhone 7 plus, which is on the bigger/heavier side. My CD slot is above the main console screen in my 2015 Outback, so I like to grip the phone by the bottom inch, so it's not blocking the screen. The phone gripper pads are pretty small, and not angled at all, so they have a hard time getting a good grip on the phone at the the bottom. My previous mount, the Satechi Universal Smartphone CD Slot Mount, had a much larger phone gripper that handled a larger phone better.

My ideal mount would have the CD slot clamp from the iOttie, with the phone gripper from Satechi.

I was a little skeptical before ordering but this fits my 2016 Toyota Prius and IPhone 7 Plus perfectly. I had a few weeks and not one issue. It puts the phone in perfect sight. Yes, the back-up camera is obscured which is simply remedied: swivel the phone out of the way then back again. I am impressed with this product. I'd ordered the dash mounted IOttie previously only to discover it won't seal onto leather-type dashes. It was returned and a month later I researched the comments on this product. It's worthy a try for anyone who has the new Prius (2016-2017). I doubt you'll have any issues. I was surprised that I didn't. Good Job to IOttie !!

I have a Toyota Echo.

This is the FIRST freakin' phone holder that works!

None of the clip-ons fit my vent. They all either didn't clip on at all, or the weight pulled the vent down.

The stick-on and suction types didn't last. Didn't stay sucked or sticked on.

This one is really easy to use, you slide it into the CD slot, click the lever into place to hold it. I have a Samsung J7, easy enough to put in and out of the holder arms.

The one thing I don't like is having it down there, I'd prefer it was up at eye level, but it's certainly better and MUCH safer than holding it, or hoping it doesn't fall out of the cupholder.

It also blocks the radio buttons on my stereo model, but totally worth having the phone easily visible and in one place, when I need the GPS.

Goodness knows I've had cell phone holders which attach to the window via suction cup (Then pops off if it gets too hot or cold, and ALWAYS in heavy traffic), cell phone holders which attach to the dash (Similar issues as the window suction cup version) but this iOttie Easy One Touch CD slot cell phone holder rocks. First, if your CD holder is mid-height or high in your radio area, this is great. CD slots down at the bottom may be problematic. You need room for the phone to hang/sit. AND, AND I LOVE THIS, you simply push your phone onto it and it snaps securely to it. No fuss, no goofing with it while driving, etc. Snap in and go. Simply squeeze the exterior arms to release. I can even use my CD player while this thing is in it. Highly recommend. I haven't had my ginormous IPhone drop yet.
