Incipio Clarion Folio Fire Case (5th Generation - 2015 release), Plum Purple

Got mine yesterday. Though it's good for the price, note there's a couple thing that some people may not like.

When the cover is closed, you can't lay the kindle down flat on its back due to the permanent plastic bit that clips the cover. When its open, you can lay it down flat, but only because the weight is distributed evenly (if that make sense?).. it basically hovers over the surface. Not too much of an issue.. but just an observation.

Also when I opened up my case--it seems like there was a feint finger print in the light blue color shortly after. Not sure if it was mine or from the packaging process.. but reguardless, it's not very fingerprint friendly. Within a night of use, it caught a lot of finger prints as if it doesn't like the normal oils in a human finger. If you're somebody who likes their devices to look pristine-this will probably bug you.. at least with this lighter color choice.

Lastly.. and this is the pickiest of them all.. it may not be as sturdy/tight to hold with one hand when completely open. My mom's ipad that comes with that popular magnetic folding case, when it's folded back-it secures itself and is easy to hold. With this, unless you secure it, it's gonna bend like a paperback book when it's folded.

Otherwise, it seems like a great case so far. Simple design. Bit of a learning phase in how to get it to stand up how you want but easy enough to figure out. Great color (just like the picture shows). Buttons work great still. It DOES cover the memory card slot so it's not accessible when on but it's not like you have to get into that very often.

This case was a great purchase. It is very sleek, not bulky like a lot of others. It is designed well. And I like the material it is made out of.

Over all I'm very happy with this case. There is a "catch" on the back, that is like a protruding knob, and it took me a while to adjust to the fact the case didn't flip back and lay flat against the back. Once I adjusted to how to hold it, I great to really like this case. It is easy to access the buttons I need on the top and side (power and volume) and simple to plug the power cable in. (The case I had on my previous Kindle sometimes let the Kindle slip a fraction of an inch, and I had to nudge the Kindle to the side so I could get the power cable to connect, no such issues with this one.)

I will admit that while it frustrates me at times that the flap isn't laying flat against the back, I do like that it snaps into place when I've put the cover on the kindle, and I have no fear of the flap being knocked open when I toss it into a bag with other items. (So the downside is also an upside. :) )

My kindle is black, so the see through aspect of the back to allow the kindle color to shine through isn't a factor for me... but does strike me as a nice touch for those who have chosen a colored kindle -- also a nice way for a family with kindles who got the colored ones so they can tell them apart to be able to tell at a glance without opening them which is which.

Case arrived yesterday. The case is exactly as the picture shows, which is why I gave it 4 stars. I bought the case as part of a b day present for an 8 year old. It seems sturdy enough and I like the fact that it covers all sides. The only downside I see to this cover is that while it does form fit around the tablet, it also is easily removed, because it's not super tight and it doesn't come up over the edges much. I was hoping for something that more or less snapped in place. It fits somewhat snug but not super snug. The outer edges are rubber, and not plastic. It would be nice to have a combo of both to get that snap effect when placing the tablet in the protective cover. I know it will protect fine, but I also have a child who for the most part takes care of things. Very nice build, but not for am4 year old. It's hard to spend a lot of money to protect a $50 tablet.I would love to have an otterbox type cover, just not the price! Wouldn't we all?

Fits the Amazon tablet nicely. I got my mother a tablet for her birthday and ordered this case with it. I needed something that would be easy to open for her (arthritis) and sturdy enough to protect it from scratches and so on. It works perfectly and its just what she wanted. I would recommend this case, its a great buy for the money.

Description

To the point: It does its job. It is simple, looks tough yet flexible. It holds my Kindle Fire standing on landscape position. It is not that good in portrait but it rarely use it that way. It has a good cost-benefit ratio.
The silicon part looks effective. It involves the whole device and the cover takes care of the screen while shut. It is easy to install on and to take off. It is definitely not beautiful, but it does its job well so that's what matters to me.

perfect for me. I needed a lightweight easy-to-use cover and this fit the bill. I have small hands with a touch of arthritis but like to hold my kindle when reading or playing games. Basic is so good most of the time!

Perfect fit, wife really likes the look. Note: This version of the kindle fire does not turn off automatically when the case is closed. At first I blamed the case - but it was a design change by Amazon. Bad idea, in my opinion.

Skeptical because of other reviews which caused me to fear that it may not fit my Kindle Fire. However, upon receiving the kindle I was relieved and delighted because it "fit like a glove". And the purple looks beautiful. So I'm very happy with my purchase . The only con is once stain, it's hard to remove the stain.

I really like this case. It is sturdy and fits the paper white beautifully. It is not a swivel case but it will stand in both horizontal and vertical positions.
