This is a really cool device with an important flaw that you may need to know about. I received one as a gift and had difficulty setting it up at home. The install process kept failing with no message about why. It has to be connected to your internet in order to work, but despite entering the correct password in the app several times, it kept failing to connect. After some online research, we determined that it cannot successfully connect if your wifi password contains anything other than letters or numbers AND the password string can't be too long. So, we went to great pains with Time Warner to get our wifi password changed to something shorter and more conventional (and, I might add, less safe!) After doing this, success! It works and offers fascinating data on the indoor air quality, and also works as an air purifier.
My actual intention was to use this in the office, but guess what? No self respecting office wifi has a password that will work with this, and it is essentially a pretty, light-up brick if not connected to wifi. So, I will happilly use mine at home instead of the office, but wanted others to know that if this will be an issue, probably should look for another product.
Update: The unit does not appear to monitor air quality when the app is closed. I have received numerous false "dangerously high VOC" readings, which sends me into an unnecessary panic as the unit is located in my infant son's room.
Original review: Setup was no problem. Would be nice if the app displayed carbon monoxide and other various VOC levels, though.
This product really helps with eliminating all bad smells. It lights up purple which is so soothing.
Great. Need to have personal wi-fi network to set up app. (Currently living in a hotel, so I don’t have administrative control of the password, so I can’t set up the app.)
It is pretty. Love the wood. I love the light colors. Makes a great night light. But it wasn't actually what I thought it was & the app has issues a lot. I have an iPhone 7 so thinking the bugs just haven't been ironed out yet. The monitoring is a cool feature but hard to hear & that's when I can get the app to work to use it. I rated this 4 star as I'm rating the product not the app itself but the app is what makes the product functional in my opinion.
