Got my kindle and nobody in amazon was prepared with custom skins-- except this seller. AND their price was the lowest too. I LOVE it. The kindle is light and I read when waiting in stores, restaurants you name it; and when I am reading people constantly stop and say "WOW can I see that?" They actually want to handle it, read a bit, and they all love the color, I had to explain how I got it. The cover attracts their attention and they say "I've been thinking of getting one of these"...Amazon should pay me for their free advertising, lol!!
Decalgirl had THE best price for kindle latest gen skins; at first I was put off by the description 'Matte finish' as opposed to glossy (like my laptop skin)-- but you know it's SO much classier than gloss on a handheld reader. I think the matte finish is easier to hold-- than a slippery glossy skin-- since the kindle is so light. Plus it goes on effortlessly:expert die cut, folks! (no bubbles like my laptop skin from another company.)
You won't be disappointed.
I am really glad I took a chance on this product. You need to know that it is a DECAL. A sticker that adheres to your Kindle with the intent of personalizing it. It is NOT a protective case. The decal is a nice weight and quality and will certainly protect against cosmetic damage such as scuffs and scratches, but I still wouldn't carry my Kindle around in my purse without putting it in a case. I would take a picture of my Kindle with it's skin for you to see, but it looks exactly like what is already in the product picture.
The decal is as pictured and adheres very well to the Kindle. I did use a little bit of rubbing alchol on a soft cotton swab to clean my Kindle prior to attempting to applying the decal. It pays to be patient and careful when applying, but I found it to be forgiving of mistakes - I was able to pull it up and replace it without loosing adhesion. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to put the front piece on - I was afraid it would be really fiddly with all those little holes for the buttons on the keyboard, but it just set into place very nicely and easily. The directions on the packaging are very simple, but easy to follow and helpful.
In summary, if you're looking for something to make your Kindle a little more personalized, this is a great product. I recommend going straight to the seller's website as there are more prints available and they have decals for all the different Kindles as well as most cell phones, tablets and other e-readers.
I applied the skin just seconds after opening my new kindle 3. I did read the directions but I feel it should be said that when applying the front start with you key pad area first. I pulled it off a few times to realign and the vinyl stayed true to form. For someone who couldn't draw a stick person to save her life, I have to say this was really easy to apply. It feels good to hold it (not slick, which is great for I am clumsy). But, LOL, I ultimately chose this design because the sleeping man reminded me of the story Rip Van Winkle the man who fell asleep in the catskills for 20 years straight. Because when you have a baby while your husband is deployed, sleep is a thing of the past. I would reccomend this product to a friend.
I have to say that I am impressed! First it gives a personal feeling to your Kindle. It's easy to apply. It will definetely keep your Kindle in tip top shape because it will protect from fingerprings or scratches. The installing instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Very well shipped as well and protected. I reccomand if you like to change your decal periodically you should keep the original packing and you can probably re-apply later. However for the ones who think that this is protection for drops look for something else. This is just a decal (high quality sticker)well worth it though! I highly recommand it.
This is the first skin I've ever purchased. I was so surprised at how easy it went on. This product fit my kindle perfectly. No stretching or trimming needed. The hardest part was lining up the keyboard part correctly and even that only took me a couple tries. The surface isn't slick or make the kindle hard to hold. The picture is even more beautiful in person than it is in the pictures on Amazon. This may be my first experience with decalgirls product, but it won't be my last. I can't wait to show off my "new" kindle!

Amazing how personalized this skin is! I love "living" trees, and moon scenes are very much a personal favorite. Easy to attach to my kindle, was done in less than 10 minutes. Easy to line up, did not get stuck to itself or me, big plus considering how uncordinated I am. Picture is very detailed and clear, looks amazing on my Kindle. Covers everything, so kindle is well protected from scratches and such. I would say that a skin is a must have for anyone who plans to use their Kindle a lot. I would definately sugguest "decalgirl" skins to everyone, for ease of use and quality of product.
I was initially disappointed, thinking that the cut was not exact ... as it turns out, the cut is so precise that being a teeny bit off in one corner results in being much more off in the other corner.
It definitely takes a bit of patience getting the skin to fit *just* right.
Also, I was worried that the skin would be too easy to peel off, given how pliable it was when I was trying to apply it (peeled back, repositioned, repeat several times). Very happy to say that it is firmly adhered. I realized I was still just a *smidge* off with my application and tried to reposition it 2 days later ... bad idea. LOL. There's now a little bump in the corner from where I tried to lift it with my nails. Oh well, that's my own fault.
Not only do I LOVE my Kindle and my green cover with the light but I LOVE this Kindle skin! It was relatively easy to put on - I did get a small airbubble but its hardly noticable and plus I am the only one reading from my Kindle so who cares. It reminds me of fantasy and love reading fantasy books. The colors are beautiful and matched my leather cover. I do not regret the purchase and have no intention of ever taking this skin off but who knows maybe they will come out with something prettier...
I was so excited when this came in the mail...I promptly had my boyfriend apply it. I ohhed and ahhed for awhile, then put Kindle back in it's leather case. Hmm. Well, apparently no one thought that some of the cases are solid...on the inside. Mine sort of snaps into place, not held in by elastic on the corners. Well, the spot where it snaps my Kindle in, mucks up my pretty new skin. It's by no means a big deal...but I was really bummed that it got messed up. Overall, I'm thrilled with the product. It's beautiful. Colors are amazing and the detail is super. My sad little corner at the top...is not so happy. I will get over this...
Sadly, at $20 a pop, I was a little miffed that it got messed up so easily. Oh well. You live and learn. :(
This is such a beautiful skin! I actually bought another skin at the same time and applied it first...only to take it off and put this one on instead. I ALWAYS get compliments about how beautiful it is.
About the application: It was easy! I had a hard time deciding on whether or not I wanted to keep the button stickers, but I went without them in the end (you're supposed to keep them off, but I thought about keeping them on anyway).
