Danby DWC350BLPA 35 Bottle Wine Cooler - Platinum

I have 3 of these of differing ages. Oldest is now reaching the 10 year mark. All still work as they should.
This is nothing but a standard refrigerator with different inside racks.

Before buying one, consider these downsides;
1) High chance that it will get damaged in shipment. 2 of my 3 arrived with signs of being dropped on their corners. Most recent one had
the damaged concealed well enough that it was only apparent after un-boxing.
2) The wrong thermostat is used on them. I replaced the thermostat with one in the correct temperature range on my first unit, so it is
possible to get them into the 50-60F range with a part swap. The thermostat is a standard part and many water coolers use the same
part but with a warmer temperature range. With the supplied thermostat, you cannot set the temperature higher than
about 48F.
3) Won't fit many bottles unless they are more or less that standard size. Wide or long bottles will drastically cut into the number it will hold.
4) These units, as most small refrigerators, reject their heat into the side panels. If you place this into an enclosed space or have something
against the sides you will burn up the compressor in short order. Why this isn't prominently shown in the instructions or on the unit after 10 years
of making them is beyond me.

That said, it's a super cheap wine fridge compared to similar units that start at $1k. That extra $750 you pay for them is nothing but mark up on a
small / med refrigerator. Are some wooden racks and a different thermostat worth that much to you?

So far so good. Quiet and keeps wine at desired temp. Easy to load and retrieve bottles.

Came damaged in a visible area but we were able to fix it

very nice product.

The Danby Wine Cooler is quiet and a perfect size for us. Keeps a nice temperature for both red and white wines,
although we usually take out the red an hour or so before serving. We are very happy with this purchase!

Easy to set up and holds the temp. Capacity is precisely as promised

Great compression fridge. Coldest setting can ice it up.

Best wine bottle cooler ever.

We've had this for a couple years now. Have not had any issues. The only drawback is that it keeps reds a little colder then we typically prefer. (It does have temp control but is still cold on the warmest setting). As a result since it is so big, it doubles as an extra veggie fridge in the summer months.

I have 2 of these. The first I bought in 2006 and it's still works perfectly. The second in 2012 and it's also running perfectly.
So for a couple of hundred dollars and I can protect a couple of thousand dollars worth of wine.

It's not fancy, no bells or whistles to speak of, occasionally the motor is audible, be sure to close the door firmly.

I love it- Honda Accord of wine fridges- affordable and reliable.

NB Not designed for garages- needs to be indoors
