My wife works from home using our Ooma VOIP line for business calls. Since she has to answer every call she gets a lot of robocalls, scams, questionable charities, political calls etc. She politely listens for a while then requests to be put on their do not call list if the caller is human but that hasn't seemed to stop them from calling back.
The CallBlocker has been a revelation to her as she only has to hit the red button and that particular number can't call back plus it immediately hangs up on them. She's only done this 5 times in two weeks but the unwanted calls she gets have also been dramatically reduced which I have to believe is them being blocked by the numbers already stored in the device.
I got to hit the red button once on a live Microsoft support spam caller and it was immensely satisfying though that probably won't stop them from calling back on a spoofed number.
Set up is easy, you just plug it in. It works fine with our Panasonic wireless handsets. I tried to enter the code to block all VOIP calls, not sure if it worked or not. The indicator that was supposed to come on didn't, but the unit declared I was SUCCESSFUL. We still get some junk calls, tho. THe problem with using the #2 feature from a remote handset is that you have to answer the call to use it. This lets them know yours is a live number and they just call back on another number. Better to just use the Block Now button. If you're not right next to the CPR when the call comes, you can let it go to VM, then use the Call List button to find the number and block it using Block Now. All the buttons on my unit work, and the number of junk calls is very much less - sadly not zero, tho.
This call blocker works perfectly. Amazing. I was getting more than one 10 robocalls per day and now I get one or none per day. When one does happen the “block” button gets rid of it immediately.
My phone system only allows 250 blocked calls; I used all those up. On average, we were getting 3 - 6 junk/spam/scam calls each morning and 10+ daily (feel my pain!). Also, I need to keep our home phone turned up due to a family member's health issues, so I was stuck. I bought and easily installed this unit and garbage calls dropped dramatically! One week after installation, we are down to 1 - 2 a day, and often none! A great feature is that you can block additional calls by answering and hitting #2 on any extention! This unit supposedly comes with 10,000 pre-installed known junk numbers already blocked and allows you to block up to 2,000 more. I now get a fiendish pleasure from answering and blocking the few calls that get through. "Hi, this is Microsoft support..." BLOCK! "Hi, this is about your credit card balance..." BLOCK! "Hi, this is Amy. I've been trying to get ahold of you..." BLOCK! Ahhh... Highly recommended product.
After non-stop robo calls every day waking me up, I went online and found the CPR V10000 Call Blocker. The price I think is very expensive but just as I was thinking about purchasing it, I got another robo call! When I first plugged it in I did notice less calls. Once I started to block the calls as they came in, I went an entire week with only 1 call and some days with no calls at all. I've blocked 37 numbers and haven't had any unwanted calls for days. It really works! I like the #2 functionality where you can use your other DECT phone at another location in the house to block the call. Wasn't sure if it would work on my phone service from Cox cable, but it does. So, other than the price (which still seem like a lot of money), this is awesome. You can probably get the same results with the older model which is less expensive - especially if you are manually blocking the calls as they come in. It's so nice to have a quite house :)

Block All Rob calls, Insurance Calls, Scam Calls, Unwanted Political Calls On Your Home Phone At The Touch Of A Button! Block Now - The Big Red Button: The V10000 can be set to run in BLOCK NOW mode where Call Blocking is actively controlled by the user. V10000 is pre-programmed with 10000 numbers which are 'deemed' as known nuisance rob callers. At the touch of a button the unwanted caller’s number is logged into the unit’s memory. This feature allows you to block up to 2000 unwanted callers. Dual Mode: The V10000 can also be set to run in ALLOW NOW mode where all numbers are blocked apart from numbers that have been programmed into the ALLOW NOW list (#) 2 Blocking Function: Block a number by entering # 2 (Pound 2) on any cordless handset connected to the telephone base. Pre-loaded Nuisance Rob call Database: CPR Call Blocker V10000 has been pre-loaded with 10000 of the worst offending nuisance rob call numbers. This helps provides a dramatic reduction in rob calls, scam calls, political calls, election calls and general nuisance calls as soon as the Call Blocker is connected.
I bought this blocker because it has an Allow mode as well as a Block mode. When in Allow mode only the numbers you enter into the Allow list will get through. All other numbers will be blocked. This is a more efficient way to block calls. If you are expecting a call from an unknown number you can temporarily switch to Block mode, such as if you advertised something for sale and you don't know who will call. On my phone, blocked calls show on the caller ID list for the phone, but not on the blocker, so I can still see who called.
This blocker has another nice feature. You can choose to turn on a message for blocked callers. It works for block mode and allow mode. I tried it on two different phone systems. One of them had voicemail as part of the phone service. I blocked my cell phone number and dialed the landline. It went to voicemail and I had a chance to leave a message. At a different house with a physical answering machine, the blocker left a short electronic message saying the call was blocked, but it didn't get through to the answering machine.
This is a great solution for those people who have a regular group of callers and don't normally receive calls from unexpected numbers. Even those who get some unexpected but desired calls can use the Allow mode if they have voicemail from their phone company, if they are satisfied to get a voicemail instead of having the call going through.
Update: The manual method of adding numbers to the allow list requires that you phone the number and press the allow button. If you don't hang up fast enough the person phones you back. I found it easier to use the **7# method to add the number to the block list and then move it to the allow list.
I've only had the unit installed for an morning, first morning without a robo call. Just as important my doorbell is wired thru my phone system. It still rings thru out the house when pressed. I'll revisit this review in a couple of months, but we are off to a good start!
We were averaging at least 20 junk calls per day. As soon as I installed the CPRV10000 Call Blocker, I stopped receiving unwanted calls. It has only been two days, so I cannot comment on long term use, but the relief we got was immediate. There are no problems we are aware of.
I had the V5000 that stopped working. Then I started getting 30 calls in two days from the same robo caller that called every 30 minutes from 6:30 am on. I went on Amazon and noticed the new version V10000 available. I had great luck with the V5000 for over a year; so, I ordered the new one. The minute I plugged it in the phone stopped ringing with those calls. Plus, there are 5,000 more automatically blocked calls than the earlier version and you can block another 2,000. I used the instructions in the booklet to block all Voip Robo Calls from now on. Fantastic!!
Customer support, if needed, is fantastic. They will stay on the phone with you until the unit is working correctly. I used it on the V5000. I know if this one ever plays out and there is another version, I will still buy the CPR Call Blocker.
this does block unwanter calls.my problem is I cant get phone numbers into the allow list,so i'm missing calls I want.i've tried the instructions, called twice.always on hold.{waited 1 hour}i'm going to try 1 more time to call and get help.then i'm going to send it back.
