ShowerShroom Revolutionary 2

First one I bought got sucked down drain. 😑. Really troubling. However, couldn’t find a product that worked as well collecting debris. Bought another and modified it with stainless cable and ring. See picture. Now it works great.

With Modifications I would Give it 5 Stars, but without Modifications, this would definately be lost down the drain, or worse could become lodged and require expensive plumber cleanout. I gave it a 4star because it could not be used safely out of the package, but with easy minor modifications, it is an excellent hair trap drain.

The good: This catches more hair than any other drain trap we tried, at least three. I have a liner drain and it was difficult to find anything that would work without immediately plugging, and required daily cleaning. This allows at least a week or two depending on hair length and loss. We have one long haired and one short haired showerer. The ShowerShroom is easy but yucky to clean (drain hair is gross).

The Bad, after reading reviews, I first carefully placed the Shower Shroom in my drain, and indeed, it was longer than my Drain Pipe throat which expanded to a larger drain pipe. The flimsy rubber Upper stop that is supposed to keep the ShowerShroom in place would easily be pushed down the drain due to hair plugging causing it to be like a piston.

The Fix: I took a cocktail swizzle stick, and broke it to a shorter length and placed it through two adjacent Drain Holes in the Top (Closed End, See Pics for direction up and down). and taped both ends to keep the Plastic stick in place. I then placed the widest part, bottom end (see Pics) into the drain until plastic stick seats across drain preventing Shower Shroom to go down the drain. Depending on your upper drain length, the shroom can be adjusted up or down depending on the row of holes used. With this or a similar fix, the Shroom will stop tons of hair going down your drain.

Question: Juka Innovations, whay don't you make and include a similar modification in your Shower Shroom Product?

Love this Shower Shroom for my Tub. Its lots better fitting in my Tub instead of the Tub Shroom. Bottom portion of the Shower Shroom is bigger and better fitting around the Tub Drain. All you have to do is insert it and pull up so it fits snug around the tub(see attach pictures). This also allow more water to flow down the drain. I also included the Drain Wig so if hair does flow down the drain, the Drain Wig will catch it going down. It is easy to clean which I do every week because I have 3 females in household and they have lots of hair going down the drain. I use to pay $200 just to unclog the drain twice a year and that's a lot of money. This allows me to save $400 or more a year and use it for other things. I already purchased another Shower Shroom just in case I need it because this is the Best Invention devised to catch unwanted hair down the drain. I am not a paid spokes person or was paid or given a Free Sample. Follow my advise and use these two product (Shower Shroom and Drain Wig) and you'll not regret it. (The last picture shown, only a week of hair in the drain.)
Mahalo's from Hawaii

I looked all over town for this little contraption and Amazon was the only place I could find the ShowerShroom. Some stores carried the TubShroom or the SinkShroom, but didn't carry the ShowerShoom. We installed a tile-in drain in our new walk-in shower. Unfortunately, the drain did not come with a hair catcher. This little baby fit perfectly underneath the tile instert and catches all the hair that would otherwise go down the shower drain. We pull it out every week or so to clean it out. Works like a charm!!!

wow, exceeded expectations! it prevented that disgusting black sludge from growing all the way up to the drain!! it catches all of my hair and we haven't had a clogged drain ever since we purchased it! the only thing that's gross is cleaning the darn thing... but I scrape the hair off and throw it in a ziplock bag with clorox and vinegar and overnight, it's good as new!

Description

We face a myriad of challenges each and every day. Cleaning clogged drains, thankfully, no longer has to be one of them--thanks to the ShowerShroom. ShowerShroom is a 2" stand-up shower stall hair stopper that fits snug inside your shower stall drain, effortlessly gathering each and every hair that tries to make its way down your vulnerable drain. It's the hero you deserve in your bathroom. You can rest easy knowing that ShowerShroom works great for all kinds of hair-- human and pet alike. No more exorbitant bills from the plumber and no more having to use harmful chemical-based drain cleaners that damage your pipes.

I was skeptical at first because of the reviews that stated that the shower shroom got stuck down their drain, but I ordered one any way at my husband's convincing that he could solve that problem. Our drain has a cover and my husband used zip ties to secure the shower shroom to the cover. He uses pliers to take the drain cover out and the shower shroom comes with it. It's easy to clean and with the zip ties it hasn't gotten lost down our drain. We empty it out about once a week and it's amazing how much hair it catches.

I have had one of these for about 8 months and think it is a great product. It is simple and it works like they say it does. Mine fits well in the 2" outlet of an "Infinity" drain. I just ordered my second one for another shower.

I see that some reviewers are disparaging the product because it "fell down the drain". Well, the listing indicates it is for a 2" drain outlet, so the moral of the story is, if the thing looks too small for your drain, it probably is. Mine rests on a "step" in the plumbing were the shower drain connects to the plumbing. I can't see any way it is going to get through.

If I were wealthy enough to get a tax break this year, I would buy a big box of these and just throw them away after a few months of use. Cleaning isn't fun, but there are worse chores. In the future, I hope they are able to improve the product by making it self cleaning. That would be true genius. However, it would probably be really expensive.

Excellent. I have the tubshroom and the sink shroom is next on my list. Yes, cleaning you hair is gross. Especially if you have hard water and use lots of conditioners.....I would much rather clean these than pay $$$$$$$$$$$$ for a plumber!!

I have long curly hair, and let's just say that my hair has clogged the drain more than once. Yuck - yes - it's very gross. I've only has this about a month, but it has caught a TON of hair, that get's past the normal drain cover, so I think it's safe to say that the TubShroom works very well. I'm actually really impressed. I thought it sounded a little "gimmicky" but this thing is totally innovative. Now I'm going to purchase the TubShroom for the upstairs bath/shower combo tub.

Like others have mentioned, you could easily lose it in your shower drain if you are not careful. Not sure why the manufacturer did not think of it.

Even when it's not stuck inside, it is still kind of hard to pull it out because there is no good surface to hold it from the top without accidentally pushing it in.

Except for this design flaw, it still works really well for catching hair. You have to clean it up every week or so otherwise it starts clogging depending on how much hair is caught.
